OOC: And so, the holiday crazyness begins
So today is Thanksgiving. The biggest thanks I have this year is that my families has FINALLY gotten their acts together and decided to have Turkey Day on diffrent days. Since my parents got divorced and remarried, on this day I have been known to try and go to four houses in one day. This is not so this year. This year my dad's family and his wife's family are having Turkey Day today at their place. My mom's family is having Turkey Day on Saturday--and I don't know why we're not having thanksgiving with my stepdad's family but that's okay since I don't like very many of them. So this year I can gorge, recover, gorge, recover.
Well, there's that and I work on Black Friday. So even though I won't be selling a bit of my soul to fight the crowds tomorrow (I did that once to get my computer and I swore never again--I hate crowds) I am PRETTY sure that the calls will be back to back in the red all day tomorrow.
Then there's christmas next month. Do not get me wrong since I absolutely LOVE the holiday--for the lights and the snow if we get it and getting to see more family--but it makes me nervous. Why? Because I have been known to go to four houses on Christmas Day. Why not spread them back towards Christmas Eve? Because that is strictly the day I hang out with my mom's side. I've done so since I was itty bitty and I will continue to do so for as long as I can.
So. I wish all of you happy and safe holidays! Now I'm gonna go get free food!
