"And breaking my leg was the best you could've come up with?!" Xink exclaimed.
"It was that," Waldo said, all but dragging Xink along, "or stabbing you. Breaking a bone is a lot less complicated than stabbing. With stabbing, you have to be careful not to nick a major artery or vein. Even if you're lucky enough not to do that, you then have to make sure it's not deep enough to make sure the stab-ee doesn't faint from blood loss or get--hush, we're here."
Dropping Xink to the ground, Waldo approached a cell slowly. From the angle, Xink was not able to see what was on the other side of the bars but could tell from the look on Waldo's face that he held it in high regard.
"And here we are," Waldo said, speaking to whoever was in the cell. "Those Nobody idiots should've known that they couldn't keep us apart for too long, old friend."
Something on the other side of the bars snorted.
"Yes yes. But the plan has changed. The idiot has been kidnapped and a much younger version of our aunt--"
Whatever it was on the other side of the bars nickered. The idea of what it was slowly began to dawn on Xink.
"They brought them here already?" Waldo asked, surprised. Glancing at Xink, Waldo turned his attention back to cell. "Then for our sake old friend that we don't combine our powers lest I accidentally kill her and put an end to our existence--for now, my power is equal to hers at her particular age so she would stand a chance. Stand back old friend, it's time to go."
Xink heard a clatter of hooves on tile as the creature in the cell backed up to allow Waldo to rip open the cell door with his dragon like claw. A moment later, a roan colored Clydesdale horse stepped out of the cell. He would have been a magnificent looking creature except for the scars that marred his face and body. Looking at Waldo, Xink realized that the horse's markings matched Waldos perfectly.
"What--" Xink began to say as Waldo hauled him back to his feet and shoved him on the back of the horse.
"This is my other half," Waldo said. "The demon who sired me was a horse demon. By the way, you pull on my mane again like that and I will gut you."
Xink relaxed his grip on the horse's mane. "But how?"
"Who the hell do you think would want to run a science experiment?" Waldo asked. "Now shut it. Apparently Vexen has perfected the experiment to seperate souls and has already drawn out our mothers from our aunt."

Blinking, Dragon looked about. She was running through a forest with Xangord and Nogard on either side of her and Shalimar and Wolf running ahead. Sliding to a stop, Dragon grabbed Nogard and Xangord by their coat collars and pulled them back. "Wait." She had barely recognized that their bodies had somehow inverted their colors before they faded back.
As Nogard bent over and retched, Xangord said, "What in the world happened?"
"No idea," Dragon replied. "SHAL! WOLF! STOP!"
As the pair slid to a stop and looked over their shoulders, Dragon and Xangord retched. What the three had thrown up was a slimy black goo that was bubbling slightly before sizzling away in the light of the sun filtering through the trees. Dragon fancied she heard a bit of a faint scream from the ooze.
"Mom!" Shalimar said, rushing back to tackle Dragon. "You're back! You're all back! But how?"
"Oh I need booze," Nogard muttered. To Shalimar and Wolf, she said, "Where have we been?"
