When Xink thought he had been transforming himself into Chixalam, an odd thing happened. Reality stretched and skipped like a bad video recording and he found himself standing behind Chixalam.
"It's one thing to make a fool of these lab rats," Chixalam said, slowly raising his head to look at Vexen. "But to make a fool of me, even if it was my weaker half, was your mistake."
"And you're going to be even more pissed at him making a fool of you," Xink said, grabbing one of Chixalam's keyblades. Raising it over his head, Xink threw it at the computer console next to Vexen's head. In a shower of sparks and shattered glass and components, the world faded to black with a single console next to Xink.
Before Xink could start typing on the keyboard, Chixalam grabbed him by his throat and lifted him into the air. "Explain."
Grabbing Chixalam's throat, Xink gasped, "I will if you...stop throttling me!"
Dropping Xink, Chixalam said, "Explain."
Coughing, Xink placed one hand on his knees and raised the other to indicate to Chixalam he had to wait a minute while Xink caught his breath. Once he had his breath, Xink stood up and said, "We're still in the program. At least I am assuming so because I don't think you and I could talk. It took Aunt Dragon centuries to purge her sis--"
"Stop rattling and tell me how we get out of this," Chixalam said.
"Okay," Xink said with a minor pause between the syllables. Turning to the console, he began rapidly entering in codes on the keyboard. His hands flew over the keyboard so fast that Chixalam's eyes were unable to keep up. "Let's see...There's a series of worlds to get through...looks like we'll have to do something similar to what Sora did when he left Destiny Islands...I--whoa..."
"What?" Chixalam asked.
"The Organization has managed to find a way to take a bit of the Dragon Dynasty and even a few of the Honorary Dragon Dynasty in hopes of controlling mom," Xink said, pointing at a seemingly random collection of patterns on the holoscreen in front of his face. "If we don't retrieve these pieces then the Organization would have complete control of the Dynasty."
"So?" Chixalam asked.
Turning to Chixalam, Xink said, "That's NOT a good thing! The Organization is fairly strong as it is, but if they have a gang of dragons with HEARTS at their beck and call--not to mention the humans, the vampire, the gods, the demons, the nekos, and who the hell knows what else Dragon's adopted into the extended family; they'd be invincible. Can you honestly say you want the Organization to be THAT powerful? VEXEN to be that powerful?"
After a moment of consideration, Chixalam replied, "...No. How do we prevent that?"
"Well this world is considered a 'safe' world so Vexen can't get his claws on it," Xink said, turning his attention back to the console. "And I can't tell from here how many worlds we'll have to go to, or even what we're looking for, until we start visiting them."
"So how do we get to them?" Chixalam asked.
With some final keystrokes, Xink created a door just to their right. To Chixalam, he said, "Unlock it."
Raising a keyblade, Chixalam pointed it at the door and shot a beam of white light at it. A lock clicked and the door opened to suck the two of them through.
As Xink's eyes grew used to the suddenly bright atmosphere, Chixalam smacked him and asked, "WHY am I wearing a dress?"
