"Oh she is who she says she is," another voice said. A
scarred man stepped out of the shadows barely holding a girl up that was nearly Xink's own age had he been fully human. "She positively
reeks of the leader of the Dynasty, even though she's centuries younger, and less possessed, than the one currently running it. As you reek of your own mother."
"Who are you," Xink asked as the scarred man threw the young Dragon at his feet. Xink would've caught her, but the chains held him back.
"What you should be asking, friend, is what does your mother's former employers want with us and why they chose to revert you from the badass that was Chixalam to...a whiny useless child that is you."
"Hey now--"
"Though you should also wonder what it is that has infected your mother and the majority and what its motives are," the the scarred man said, walking over to Xink and finally releasing his shackles.
As Xink slid to the floor, he opened his mouth to say something when the young Dragon said, "Shut it, someone's coming!"
Tilting his head, the stranger grinned and said, "That would be our jailers. From the step, I would say it would be Luxord.and Vexen." Sighing, he added, "OF the twelve that came back, HE had to be one that came to say hi. That's just gorram shiny."
"Why?" Xink asked as the scarred man edged closer to him as the door to their cell was unlocked.
"Tsk, tsk," Vexen said, spotting the freed young Dragon and Xink. "I had left explicit instructions for these two not to be put into the same cell as you, W--"
"What can I say, Vexxie," the scarred man said, shrugging. "The Organization has always been flawed." Kicking Xink, he added, "It barely functioned when this idiot's mother worked here."
"It's odd to hear you speak of her that way," Luxord said. "She is--"
"I will pay you back one of these days, Luxxie, for that low down dirty trick you pulled on me," the scarred man said. "Let's forgo the strutting. Which of the three of us is it you came for? Myself, the boy, or the girl?"
"Don't flatter yourself," Vexen said. "You're useless now. I just haven't had time to dispose of you as of yet."
Seconds before the scarred man grabbed him, Xink saw the scarred man's jaw tighten. As though he weighed nothing, Xink felt himself hauled off the ground and thrown at Vexen and Luxord. Sighing, Luxord froze time. A second later, he realized the scarred man had transformed his right hand into a red dragon's claw and was inches from disemboweling him. His hair was also showing flames starting to erupt out of it as though he had begun to power up before attacking.
"Well isn't that a b***h?" the scarred man said, unable to move in any direction due to Luxord's spell. "Pity you hadn't stopped a step later. Xink, you are a complete idiot and useless as a diversionary tactic."
"Will you stop insulting me!?" Xink exclaimed, frustrated he couldn't twist around so that way his feet were facing the ground instead of his head. From the corner of his eye, he saw Vexen pick up the young Dragon and drape her over his shoulder. "They're taking Dragon!"
"She IS the key to the whole Dynasty," the scarred man said. "If she hadn't come to Gaia, at a much later age than what she is now, you and I wouldn't be here right now."
"Say hello to your cousin, Xink," Luxord said as he and Vexen stepped out of the cell and locked the door behind them. Releasing the time freeze on the two in the cell, allowing the scarred man's hair to erupt into flames, he added, "He takes after his mother."
