After wrapping my stomach up with a piece of Larkin's scarf, Nogard lifted me in her arms and had Larkin place my egg in my arms.
"If you jostle her in any way to make her drop the egg, I will kill you," Larkin growled.
"You just do your job and keep the four of us from being killed," Nogard snapped.
Due to the pain and worry, I do not remember how we made it outside, much less how we made it back into the outskirts of Barton. However, after some time, Nogard litterally dropped me to the ground.
"J'NASK!" I cried as the egg slipped from my hands.
Diving to the ground, Larkin caught the egg. With Larkin distracted Nogard drew her knife and knelt down far quicker than Larkin or the falling egg were moving. Placing the knife at my neck, she whispered into my ear, "I didn't want any one else but me killing you sister."
"b***h," I growled, feeling the knife beginning to cut into my throat.
Suddenly, a red and black shape flashed out of nowhere and tackled Nogard. Someone with a blue striped shirt grabbed me beneath my arms and dragged me backwards and helped me to my feet. A third person leapt in front of us waving a large hammer.
Scrambling away from Nogard, Koopa joined Larkin, Squirrelly, and me behind Skully.
"Hoshit..." Nogard murmured. Clearing her throat, Nogard said, "I really ought to be leaving. I have some...friends...to take care of."
As Nogard dissappeared, Larkin said, "Damn. The kids won't be able to defeat her alone." Handing me my egg, she said, "Guard him or her well, Dragon."
"Uh-huh," I replied, passing out as blood the make-shift bandage began to darken from blood loss.
