I do really hate the new layout. They should go back to letting everything fill the screen for those of us who have higher screen resolutions. *glares at that dead gray space off to the right*

Anyway, this entry--and all the awesomeness of it--was written with the help of The_Skull_King. If you saw this coming after the last entry, then bonus cookies to you! blaugh

Summoning

"Shal, Lord Avondale wants you to use your amulet." [1]

"Amulet?" Shalimar asked. Touching the pendant on her choker, Shalimar said, "Oh! ... Great, now how?"

There was a roar from the dark cave and tentacles began to appear around the edges of it again.

"I think it's hungry," Wolf said. "We better figure out something since your magic and my wolf-morphing qualities are negated here."

Still touching her pendant, Shalimar thought back to when she left Riverworld and came back to Gaia. She was attempting to remember a very faint memory when her Uncle Skully had given her the pendant between worlds. After a moment or two of thought, Shalimar placed her hand flat against the pendant, lowered her head, and said, "Uncle, I need your power. Please lend it to me."

"Holy crap," Wolf said in awe.

Appearing out of thin air, seven warriors appeared [3] around Shalimar. As one they knelt in readiness for Shalimar's orders. Appearing directly in front of her in spirit form, Shalimar's Uncle Skully said, "It is good to see you my niece."

"As it is you, Uncle," Shalimar said. There was a strange, dark tone to her voice. Anyone who heard it felt shivers run up and down their spine.

Looking about, the Skull King said, "Now, my Skull Princess, you know what needs to be done. KILL YOUR ENEMIES AND RIP OUT THEIR SKULLS!"

"But of course," Shalimar whispered with an evil smile. In a flash, a scythe appeared in one of Shalimar's hands and her original outfit transformed into battle armor. Sensing something wrong with her mother and aunts, Shalimar said, "Rickar and Tirade see to Mother. Velskorn and Zulufrain see to Aunt Xangord. Rultmus and Din see to Aunt Nogard. Granet, you're with me."

"What about me?" Wolf asked.

"Stay out of our way," the seven warriors and Skull Princess said, glaring at Wolf.

"Okay," Wolf said. Since he too had a connection to Miss Rose, Wolf said, "I hope Lord Avondale knows what he's doing, Miss Rosie."

As six of the seven warriors--and the Skull King--disappeared. In a blur, Shalimar and Granet rushed forward into the darkness of the cave. Eyebrows raised, Wolf listened as Shalimar and Granet battled the Staruda [4]. From the sounds of flesh ripping and terrified painfilled screams from the Staruda, Wolf could only imagine what Shalimar was up to. [5]

After several minutes of silence--after the random plop, plop sounds that Wolf could only hope/pray was dripping water--Wolf slowly approached the dark cave and called out, "Shal?"

"Let's go Wolf," Shalimar replied from within the cave. Wolf could see her red eyes glowing in the pitch black darkness.

"O...okay," Wolf said, entered the cave. "Just remember, I am a good guy. No killing okay?"

"No promises," Granet rasped from somewhere else in the darkness as Shalimar's eyes disappeared as she turned to head through the darkness.

What the Hell Kind of Rescue?

From outside her 'cell' Xangord heard terrified screams of what could only be her captors. The screams all eventually ended in death gurgles that made Xangord wonder what exactly what was going on.

Suddenly, the door to Xangord's cell was smashed open and two of the strangest creatures Xangord had ever seen were glaring at her. The one with twisted horns raising out his head growled, "Are you Skull Princess Shalimar's Aunt Xangord?"

"What if I am?" Xangord asked.

Without a reply, the striped one lifted Xangord over his shoulder. Before Xangord could protest, the two disappeared with her.

Intruders

"Who the frelling hell gave out my security codes!?" Nissa yelled.

Only a few moments ago, all of Nerissa's security systems failed. Almost instantly, a portal opened up in the basement next to Nogard and several Shadow Heartless swarmed through. A split second later though, two people appeared--one with a bare skull for a head and wearing a SWAT vest; the other reminded Nissa of a gigantic shark.

"Is this the one known as the Skull Princess Shalimar's Aunt Nogard," the one wearing the S.W.A.T. vest asked as the sharkman dealt with the Shadow Heartless.

"How do you know Nogard's name?" Nissa asked. "And since WHEN has Shalimar been known as a Skull Princess."

As the one wearing the S.W.A.T. vest went to slashing Shadow Heartless, the sharkman slung Nogard over his shoulder. Almost as quickly as they appeared, both the strangers with Nogard and the heartless all disappeared.

"Well HELL," Nissa said, completely mystified.

Escaped [6]

Hearing a crash from the back room where they were keeping Dragon, Luman and Uli rushed to see what had happened.

"You should have drugged her!" Uli snapped.

"There's no way she'd been getting her powers back so quickly," Luman replied. "That crash was from something else."

As they reached the back room, they saw someone untying Dragon while a gray skinned man with purple lightening shot out of his head at random intervals.

"That is our prisoner," Luman growled.

"No longer," the man who was untying Dragon said. Lifting her in his arms, he said, "The Skull Princess had ordered that we take her aunts and mother to our King's castle until she restores her sister."

"Skull Princess?" Uli asked. "You mean that freak of nature halfbreed Shalimar?"

In the blink of an eye, the gray skinned man rushed forward and slid one of his spears through Uli's chest. Just as quickly, he moved backwards to stand guard next to the man holding the badly injured Dragon.

"Consider yourselves lucky," the man said with obvious disdain as he and the other and Dragon disappeared

As Uli sank to her knees clutching the gaping hole in her chest, Luman thoughtfully stared at the place where the two had been moments before they left with Dragon.

Sensing

"Feeling better?" n** asked as Taran entered the bridge. Glancing at the coordinates, n** said, "Yes. Just about there I believe."

<I sense a disturbance in the force, > Flan said. If she could speak, it would have been muttered. She was far too distracted to notice that she had said it aloud through telepathy.

"Um, Flan?" n** asked. When the old woman did not respond, n** said, "Earth to Flaaaaaaaan."
