"And it's not exactly your standard tentacle either. When Wynn, Wolf, and I were on Riverworld, I once saw this aquatic animal that looked incredibly odd. It was like some odd combination of barracuda and starfish. It's hard to explain unless you've seen it--but I will say this, it is dangerous as hell."
Sensing movement on the other side of the cave, Shalimar said, "Safe or not, Aunt Rose, you'd best work on Wolf too. The Staruda is rather vicious when it knows there is prey nearby."

Waking UpSighing, n** kept her eyes closed and ran a hand through her hair. Feeling a strange reverberation beneath her, n** opened her eyes. Taking a few moments to allow the memories to rush in, n** remembered she was on a mission by Lord Avondale's orders. Getting up and trying the door to the room, n** realized she was locked in.
Patting her pockets, n** muttered, "Where's my wand...? Well hell."
Climbing the ladder and knocking on the door--more to test the strength than to draw attention--n** was rather surprised when Flan's voice entered her head.
<Mornin' sunshine. Have a good sleep did we? >"Did Taran lock me in here?" n** asked, figuring that Flan could read her thoughts as she spoke.

Apparate," n** replied. "Too scared of
splinching. I can't seem to find my wand so I can't unlock the door. Either I break down the flimsy thing or someone lets me out. Your guys' choice."
<I have no idea what Apparating or splinching is, > Flan replied.

Gaining a FriendRunning blindly through the Serengeti, Xink did what he could to avoid being caught by the hyenas but they always seemed to be right on his tail and drawing closer. Starting to slow down with his chest burning and his breath coming in great big gasps, Xink suddenly tripped over something and went rolling head over heels down a steep embankment. Cackling, the three hyenas followed Xink into the shallow gully.
"Well boys," the female hyena said as the three encircled Xink. "Bon appetite!"
Suddenly, a blood curdling roar filled the air. Before Xink could understand what was happening, what appeared to be the world's biggest lion barreled into the hyenas with teeth and claws flashing every which way. A few seconds later, the Hyenas were running off, yelping in pain and fear.
Still out of breath, Xink watched as the lion chased them for a few yards before it turned back and approached Xink. Looking down at Xink, the lion regarded him for a moment before asking, "Who are you?"
"Xink," was the reply. "You're not going to...y'know...eat me are you?"
Laughing, the lion replied, "No. My name is Kovu.
[1] Are you lost young Xink?"
"No, well yes," Xink said. "My mom brought me here and now she's missing. I'm looking for Simba or Nala."
"Are you their friend?" Kovu asked.
"My mom is," Xink said. Having since caught his breath, Xink sat up. "Do you know where I can find them?"
"Yes," Kovu said. "Follow me."
