"Shalimar!" Dragon said, catching up to her daughter.
"Yes?" Shalimar asked, turning to face Dragon.
"I know I just told you to head to med deck," Dragon replied. "But I've changed my mind. I want you to go to your quarters."
"Why?" Shalimar asked.
"Just do what I say," Dragon said, a little too sternly.
"Well...okay," Shalimar said, a little confused. Walking past Dragon, Shalimar hung a right to go to her quarters.
Sighing, Dragon went to where n**'s quarters were and knocked on the door.
"Enter," n** said from the other side of the door.
As the door slid open, Dragon said, "Nerissa, privacy mode please."
"Privacy mode engaged," Nerissa replied.
Stepping through the door, Dragon took note of how dark the room was--especially when the door closed. Candles were lighted here and there. "n**, what's wrong?"
"I'm sure you can guess," n** said from somewhere in the darkness. "I'm not exactly a normal human."
"You can do magic," Dragon said, "so you're a witchling. But you're something darker too."
"Aye," n** replied. "I was given a blood transfusion by the third oldest vampire in the world. Who was ashed shortly afterward."
"By you?"
"No. But by the same coven who had killed his human and vampiric mother."
"Ahh...Turn on the lights."
"No."
"It wasn't a request, n**."
"I don't care. I don't want you to see me."
"Now is not a time to be vain. I need your help. Shalimar's sick."
"With what?"
"Lamia Lacerta Morbus."
"Vampire Lizard Sickness?" n** asked, translating the latin. "How does a dragon become a vampire without the blood transfusion?"
"It's a rare genetic disorder for blue dragons," Dragon replied. "Only one blue dragon in six million get it."
"I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do?"
"You can do a blood transfusion with her."

Impatience
"She's going to need lots of fluids over the next few days."
"I just need to crack a few Renstok skulls is all and get my son back," Xangord said, sitting up.
"Listen to the healing fairy," Wynn said, pushing Xangord back down. "She just saved your life. You'll get to crack all the Renstok skulls you want when we get to their home world but for now you need to rest."
"Lemme up," Xangord said.
Walking over, Lord Avondale put a hand on Xangord's shoulder and held her down effortlessly. "Stay put. At least until Dragon comes in here."
"Listen to the gold and green dragons," Holly said. "The fairy too! You need your rest, Xangy!"
Her eyebrow twitching, Xangord looked over at Holly. "Did you call me 'Xangy'?"
