For I have cursed my Uncle Kevin.
It seems all my life when I open my mouth to say something like "Well I've never (insert something I've never done or known before)" my foot gets inserted a few seconds or days later. I know this and yet I still did it!
Here are some examples of Open Mouth Insert Foot (some of these are work related).
"My transfer rate is low today! I've taken 30 calls and only transferred one!"
I spend the rest of the day transferring and end up with a transfer rate of like 40% (note: this is BAD)
"I have like no wrap up time!"
I end up using a lot of wrap up after a call that puts me at 20 minutes at the end of the day (note: this is BAD also)
"I've never had a flat tire!"
I had 4 flat tires in one month because of stupid farming ground with nails in it.
"I've never been in a wreck!"
I wrecked my go-kart two times when I was little and got t-boned when I was 17.
"I've never injured a bone!"
In my car wreck when I was 17, I fractured my hips in 4 places and one of my vertebrae.
"I have no visible scars!"
In my car wreck when I was 17, I received a 2" scar on my left bicep; a 2.5" scar on my left forearm; and a 1" scar above my left eye. Note: I have a scar on my lip from falling on a coffee table when I was 2 and a scar on my right knee when I fell off my bicycle when I 4--no one can see these since they're so small.
Last week at work during a huddle (meeting for you non alltel call center people) we were talking about the Relay for Life we're doing and a penny challenge. Everyone on the team said they know someone who has cancer.
Me: "I'm lucky. I don't know anyone who has cancer."
This is the voicemail my mom left me today at 2: "Hey Holly, it's me mom. Uncle Kevin went in for surgery today and they found out he has cancer. We're not sure what kind yet, so we don't even know what kind of chemo treatments he'll be getting. Call me back when you get this message."
I know its not my fault....but damnit.....I feel guilty.

Life is too harsh sometimes. I'm sorry.
I wish the best for your Uncle Kevin.
*hugs*
