"Oooookay this is a bit weird," Wynn said. She and Shalimar had distanced themselves away from the hyperventalating humans.

"That they're all humans or that we're the only ones with clothes and hair?" Shalimar asked.

"I was going to say we don't have our ears, paws, and tails," Wynn replied, "but those are also weird."

"You know, we're going to quickly become an oddity," Shalimar said. "If these humans are as bad as Hunters and Slayers--"

"Can you use your powers?" Wynn asked suddenly."

Suddenly realizing all was quiet in her head, Shalimar made several attempts to use magic. "No."

"You do realize what this means if they come after us?"

"We are so screwed."

Staying out of direct sight, the two girls watched as the humans began to calm down. Some were bellowing about certian changes that had been made to them, others continued to sob uncontrollably. There was one group, however, that seemed reasonably calm and were walking towards the river and one of the large mushoom shaped statues.

Apparently, one of the group had figured out that the pipes attached to their wrists were to fit into the holes in the top of the mushrooms. Several other humans copied doing this but Shalimar and Wynn stayed back for the time being. After a while, there was a large surge of electricity from all the mushrooms on the river banks. Before the humans began to take their pipes from the mushrooms, Shalimar and Wynn could smell the food that had appeared inside.

"These things will produce food if we stick them on the mushroom next time," Shalimar said as she and Wynn examined the pipes. One end could be tilted open to reveal a hollow center. Inside the pipes were three rings fitted to hold silverware and plates.

"I think these are made out of dragon bone," Wynn said. "The weight and thickness is just about right and the fact it's hollow is even more proof."

"I think someone spotted us," Shalimar said, looking down at the river.
