"Only for a short while longer," Lord Avondale said. "Come; we need to be going."
With Shalimar and Wynn flanking me, I followed Lord Avondale to the base of the cliff where we had stashed the
spaceship [+1] that we had used when I first came to Gaia. After making sure that the girls and I were strapped down and the guardians were in suspended cages, Lord Avondale engaged the ship's engine and took it into space.
"Going into slipstream,"
[+2] Lord Avondale said, opening an event in space and taking the ship into it.
[+3] Navagating the stream with ease
[+4], Lord Avondale took the ship out of slipstream a few moments later.
[+5]"Is this what I think it is?" I asked, unbuckling myself and standing up to look at the display screen.
[+6]"The Beraz system," Lord Avondale said. "Resting grounds of great kings and queens and guarded by the Isuat, a race of reindeer people."
"I thought it was a myth told to hatchlings," I said in wonder. "Both the system and the Isuat."
"Not at all," Lord Avondale said, banking towards a blue diamond of a planet. "It's quite real obviously."
As soon as Lord Avondale landed the ship, I hurried off--but did not have to go far. My mother and an Isuat were waiting for us in the hangar.
"Siymaw," I said, kneeling before my mother and sensing my father's ghost hovering over her. "Mother."
"Juolmyaw," she replied, lifting me into a hug. Holding me at arms length, she said, "Daughter, you've been through a lot. Your face tells me much."
"Yeah," I replied, wiping tears away. "How did...how did you survive?"
"We shall come to that later," my mother said, looking over my shoulder and past Lord Avondale and my guardians. "Who are the younglings that Creighton is watching over?"
Smiling, I took my mother's hand and led her over to Shalimar and Wynn. "Mom, I would like to introduce you your granddaughter, Shalimar and her guardian Wynn."
"I have a grandchild?" my mother asked, looking at Shalimar and me in surprise. "Is Creighton--?"
"No," I replied as Shalimar shied behind Wynn and me. "My story will have to wait. I want to know what happened to you after...the accident."
"Well then come with me," my mother said, taking my hand. "Whe have much to talk about and little time to do so."

[+4] Navagating slipstream. Note, in order to navigate the stream safely, you have to be able to preguess every action. An inexperienced pilot who cannot do this can easily rip their ship to shreds and kill everyone inside.

[+6] There are no external windows due to the fact that no matter how thick they are; windows can still break easier than the hull of a ship and no one wants to get sucked thorugh a dime-sized hole now do they?
