"Fun name for a vamp," the young Dragon said.
"And you have an interesting name for a human," Louie replied.
"Oh I'm no human," the young Dragon said. "This form is just simply easier to move around in to avoid hunters and slayers. My true form however..."
Transforming into her blue dragon form [1], the young Dragon spun around and swept away the approaching wolves. On her return sweep, the young Dragon breathed a sheet of ice at the wolves who had dodged her first attack. Some were frozen in pillars of ice while others were impaled by spikes of ice. Transforming back into her human form, she turned to face--
"That chickenshit," the young Dragon said when she saw that Louie had disappeared.
Making her way out of the mansion without further incident, the young Dragon followed the winding path through the Durem Graveyard to Durem. Though she had found it a bit odd to not have come across anyone just yet, the young Dragon shrugged it off as coincidental due to the war at the mansion.
Rounding a corner, she saw a white haired kid fighting off several odd looking creatures. As he was looking rather overwhelmed, the young Dragon leapt forward and swung one of the bats down on the head of a creature sneaking up on the boy. Spinning around, she took out another five with her bats. Slipping on a rock, the young Dragon bent backwards in time to avoid being slashed by a jagged looking blade. [2]
"Oi!" the young Dragon said. "Watch it idiot! I was trying to HELP you!"
"I'm sorry," the kid replied, turning to look at her. "You kind of look like them."
"Well if you'd take that damned scarf of your eyes you'd clearly see I wasn't!" the young Dragon growled. "And what in the hell would possess you in fighting with your eyes covered like that?!"
"I--" the kid said. Tilting his head, he shoved at the young Dragon. "Go! Now! Before the Dawning Mist gets here!"
"What--" the young Dragon was saying. Before she could finish her question, a brilliant white light filled her eyes. Crying out in pain, the young Dragon dropped her bats and tried to cover her eyes. Falling to her knees, the young Dragon cried out again as she realized that she couldn't block out the light that was searing her retinas. Curling up on the ground, the young Dragon whimpered as the pain of the light seared through her body.
It was not until some time later that the young Dragon began to stir. Realizing she was unable to see, she scented spilled blood and a smell that was both strange and familiar to her. Slowly sitting up, she said, "Who is there?"
