[1] Slamming the door to their room, Varden looked about in a panic.Seeing that his twin was still asleep, Varden hurried over to her. Shaking her shoulder, he said, "Get up Vard. We've got to get out of here."

"What's wrong Vard?" Varda asked, sitting up and yawning.

Throwing a bag full of supplies at her, Varden said, "He's followed us."

"...Who?" Varda asked, still half asleep.

"You know, the one that did this to us!" Varden said, gesturing at himself and Varda as he was putting another sack full of supplies together.

That woke Varda up. "How the hell did he get here?!?!"

"Hitched a ride on the twins' vampire mother apparently," Varden replied. "And he's began to spawn. He's down in the ship bay converting the DD Triplets, their parents, their brother, and Mother."

"Damn. If he has her, then he'll probably use her to get to Rhonabwy," Varda said. "We've got to get to him to warn him."

"I don't know if you noticed or not but he doesn't like either of us too well," Varden pointed out.

"He likes the twins well enough," Varda said. "What about Shalimar and her crew? Or Flan and Anna Marie?"

"Flan and Anna Marie had fled to Lady Rose's fox den," Varden replied with a little contempt. "Shalimar and the others have gone to Wolf's home.

"What about the ABC and ABCDE?" Varda asked. [2]

"Be my guest if you want to try blasting past him and his spawnage," Varden replied. "With Ikkit's security system, I think they'll be pretty much safe. The twins are in Ette's room right next door."

Placing her hand on the door handle to lead the way out, Varda said, "Frell. He's control of the security system."

"Well? What are you waiting for?" Varden said. "You've got the strength."

"Its still going to hurt and I'd like to keep my wits about me as long as possible, now let me think," Varda replied, taking her hand off the door. Looking the door and the wall over, she walked the length of the wall until it came to the terrace overlooking the grounds. "Right. I'm going to go through the wall, stay right behind me because you're going to get them to move as I clear a path out of here."

"After you," Varden said, standing back.

Taking a few deep breaths, Varda plowed through the wall connecting their room with Ette's. At the last second, she increased the bone structure in her head since she knew the stuff making the walls would be much more than drywall, insulation, and 2x4's. Even so, with the thickness of her skull the same as that of her thigh bone, she stumbled once she had broken through.

"Holy hell Varda!" Nate exclaimed, jumping to his feet. "What are--?"

"No time to talk you two," Varden said, stepping through the hole. "We've got to get out of here. An intruder has bypassed Nerissa's systems and has gotten onto the grounds."

"Why are yo--" Ette started to say as an explosion rocked the house. "What was that?!"

"Get your brooms!" Varden said, thankful that Nate had brought his into Ette's room. "There's no time to argue!"

As the twins mounted their brooms, Varden transformed into his naga form and Varda into her dragon form. No sooner had they transformed than the door to Ette's room blew open and the fake n** stepped through, dripping black ooze from several wounds.
