Security Precautions
Nissa smiled. "As you wish, Chazu. One name is as good as another--or so Dragon likes to say."
When Chazu introduced Lisa, Nissa nodded--then cut herself off from her mainframe as Lisa groped her [1]. Feeling one good turn deserved another, Nissa quickly let loose a few nanobots into Lisa's systems to get a read on the AI. Satisfied there was no apparent threat, Nissa recalled the nanobots before Lisa unraveled herself from Nissa's body.
Connecting back to her mainframe, Nissa replied, "I do not transform. I am the house's super computer, a space ship, and an android."
Creating a hologram next to Lisa that was an exact duplicate of Nissa, Nerissa said, "I did not get a chance to fully check your systems. Do you control your wires through nanobots?"

Twice the Anger
Larkin was calmly sitting in a corner watching Rose and Lord Avondale work on Wynn when Xangord and Nogard showed up. Quietly drawing one of the many weapons she carried in her coat, Larkin began to rise to her feet to attack Nogard.
"Stay," Xangord said to Larkin--strapping her to the chair with chains of smoke that Larkin could not break. To Rose, Xangord said, "Do what you can to strengthen the bond. Nog--"
At that moment, Chazu had appeared behind Nogard and Xangord and was about to apologize for something when he realized who he was standing behind. Sliding on ice until he was behind Rose where he apologized for his earlier actions.
"I understand and I forgive you, lad," Lord Avondale said to Chazu with a smile and a nod.
"If you get me out of these chains so I can kill Nogard," Larkin said to Chazu while glaring at Nogard, "then we'll call it even."
"Your Aunt and I have other matters to attend to," Xangord said. To Lord Avondale, she said in dragon speech, "E bux yipj gf Jwulit yi wapauxa sf kopp vibaw yi gwetl Xmupesu guhp."
"Ex ey xuka kiw dio yi ji xi?" Lord Avondale asked in the same speech.
"It is in there," Xangord replied, slipping back into common speech.
"And what are you going for?" Lord Avondale asked, looking at Nogard.
"Backup," Nogard replied. "Xangie's going to be so busy dealing with Shal's that if Wynnie's got other demons running in her head, I can deal with them."
"Talk about the irony," Larkin said flatly.
Walking over to Larkin and pulling the scarf down off her face [2], Nogard examined her. "I should've taken more throat with it that way you couldn't talk."

Rescued? [3]
"Stay behind me," the white haired man said, pushing the woman behind him. The beggars were starting to become violent and were waiving various cheap weapons.
"It's probably a bad time for introductions," the woman said. "But my name is Lizbeth."
"Creighton," the man replied, deflecting a bat and smashing the owner in the face with it.
When Creighton hit one of the beggars, the others became enraged and swarmed the two. It took all Creighton could do to keep back the beggars--but he was bleeding from over a dozen serious wounds caused by the bladed weapons the beggars were carrying. As Lizbeth was helping, she had some wounds as well, though none as serious as Creighton's.
When Lizbeth felt like they were going to loose, a space ship landed on several of the beggars. As Lizbeth quickly recognized the ship as a Firefly class ship, she saw the rear hatch open. The angle was wrong for her to see who was in the ship, but she was surprised when one of the beggars shot a fishing harpoon into it and dragged a young blonde girl out of it to impale her with swords, pitchforks, and other bladed weapons. Almost immediately, the blond girl--who at first glance looked rather weak--became savage and began to retaliate by ripping everyone within reach apart and slurping up the blood that happened to splash in her face.
"Vampire," Lizbeth whispered in awe. Due to being distracted, Lizbeth did not see the spear that was lobbed at her until it was firmly embedded in her shoulder.
"Lizbeth!" Creighton exclaimed, turning at her cry of pain. Pulling the spear out of her shoulder, Creighton said, "It's okay, I think the people in the space ship are here to help."
<Too right, > a voice said in their heads. <Do us a favor and move to your left please. >
"You heard that right?" Lizbeth asked Creighton.
"Yes I did," Creighton replied, helping Lizbeth to move to the left.
At that moment a large white dragon stomped out of the spaceship and made short work of the beggars. When it reached Lizbeth and Creighton, it bowed and said it was going to take them to family and friends.
"Vampires, dragons, and voices in our heads," Lizbeth said. "What kind of family do we have?"
"Quite unusual one m'thinks," Creighton replied. "How do we know this dragon is safe?"
<Oh he's quite harmless, > the voice said. <Unless you make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. For that matter, I don't think we'd like you two if you two got angry. >

[2] Remember, Larkin has gold skin and a missing lower jaw thanks to loosing a battle to Nogard. She wears the scarf to hide the fact she's missing her lower jaw.
[3] Need a refresher, go read here. Bottom half of the entry.
