Ok so I'm a dork for loving those epic, siblings lead normal life, siblings get attacked by something odd, siblings get saved by some weirdo, and siblings find out they have magic, or superpowers; but they're so good. I just can't help but wish that something like that would happen to me. Recently I've been reading a series about Sophie and Josh Newman. They're twins who work across the street from each other, one day the book store Josh works at gets attacked by a man called "Dee", and Nick Fleming, his boss, take him and his sister away from San Fransico. Sophie and Josh find out that not only are legends had a bit of truth to them but also the gods and godesses, the monsters, and the human kind from history, are all true and still kicking. Nick Fleming is the very own Nicholas Flamel, assumed to be dead. The twins are swept away in the world that's wonderous, but very dangerous.
So my only tiff with it would be it goes by day. I'm on the third book and its probably on been four-five days. It makes it interesting but at the same time crazy, cuz so much happens within one day.
So far they're four books. The Alchemist, The Magician, The Soceress, The Neuromancer. I'm still on the third. If you really love books that include egyptian, greek, mayan, and many other mythologies then this is good.
Slow in a few places but the action makes up for it.
