David Edding's writes a fantasy (of course I would be drawn to one) about a young farm boy, Garion, who has a bigger destiny that he could ever know of. His Aunt Pol, and the strange man called Wolf have always been a part of his life but in a way that he never knew. When the Orb is stolen from the Rivian King's Hall, they go on a mission that will change Garion's life forever.
Its really fantastic. My cousin gave it to me for chistmas and one look at the thick volume and almost midevil feel of the storyline had me turning away, but as usual my huge book case ran out of convienient reads so I picked it up. It was slow at first but picked up.
The humor and action rocket this story along as Garion grows from boy to man. If you really like the stories including made up worlds and tales of knights, vikings, princesses, kings, and magicians read this book. (borrow it if you want).
