I hunted, I searched and finally I bargained and payed dearly, but I found the gem I'd been searching for. Dad and I got the apartment. ^_^ the street name and the name of the apartment is of a semi-precious stone, but I'll decline to say which one for now. I wanna suprise people with the nifty artwork I plan on sharing later based on it. xp

So my dad and I have lousy credit and we had to pay a big deposit, but we already had the money saved up so it wasn't horrible. Its absolutely lovely, 2 bed, 1 bath, really nice kitchen and living room, more closet space than we know what to do with and the rent is quite affordable. Maybe it all seems so nice because it means I don't have to dig and scrape and hunt for a place anymore. I haven't seen my dad this giddy is years. 4laugh *sighs contentedly* I know that its really far from where my friends live, but its closer to school and work, so I can't complain too much and I can still see them, just I have to plan out transportation more carefully.

Once the novelty and relief of a new place has worn off, I'm sure I won't be so worked up over an apartment, but even now I know the place needs some work, that and we don't really have any furniture. First on the list are beds, okay matresses on the floor. xp Hey its a start right? So much needs to be done, not the least of which is unpacking and cleaning, but I honestly think I'm gonna enjoy the heck out of it. I'm making progress, getting back on my feet and making the best of what I've got. I know this isn't the best I could do and nowhere near perfect, but I feel like I'm really getting my life back...no not that exactly, I've always had my life, just now it feels like things are significantly growing and improving in it.
