QUICK NOTES FOR POTENTIAL ARTISTS
Name: Kiel
Age: 21
Eye colour: Brown
Hair: Black, a little past his shoulders, but usually kept in a ponytail tied with a blue ribbon, with his bangs hanging loose around his face.
Body type: 5'8'', lean, a little fair skinned (but not super pale).
Short personality: Easy to talk to, a people-pleaser, a pushover, coffee addict, speaks of his abilities to nobody (not even those he trusts), levelheaded, takes his time.
Distinguishing features: Little black fashion glasses. His ponytail w/ its blue ribbon. His almost unnatural love for horror. His ability to control nightmares. His art.
Outfits: He likes vests with long-sleeved shirts, and pants (he'd never be caught dead wearing shorts). However, he doesn't have a problem with wearing something more casual. Often wears small, rectangular, frameless glasses with black lenses that are more for fashion than anything else. Can be drawn with a cafe-esque waist apron. Can also be drawn wearing an animal skull on his head.

DETAILED PERSONALITY
Despite his fixation for nightmares and frightening things, Kiel is a laidback, easy-to-talk-to guy who doesn't seem to have any incredibly immoral agendas or ulterior motives. He doesn't ever speak of his abilities, not even to those he fully trusts.
Very patient, Kiel can make time for pretty much anything or anybody.
The kind of guy who chats it up frequently with his customers, and he loves seeing a satisfied buyer. He's also a total coffee addict.
Level-headed, and prefers compromise over choosing sides-- though ideally he likes to keep his hands out of fights that don't concern him. A total pushover with anything else, though-- if you ask him to do something with a smile, he probably will. Failing that, a little bit of coercion goes a long way...
He believes one needs to take time to smell the roses-- the regulars of his cafe are accustomed to waiting, as he takes extra care in making their drinks. As such, his cafe doesn't see nearly as much morning rush traffic. He's also frequently late to everything ever.
Kind of oblivious. Gets lost in his own head at times.
Sometimes doesn't see why people don't appreciate horrid monsters and rotting corpses as much as he does.
KIEL'S PAST
Kiel had always been an aspiring artist, drawing and painting for as long as he could hold a pencil or a brush. As a child, an accident left him comatose for about two weeks, the span of which was spent in a seemingly endless nightmare. During this nightmare, he met a man in a skull mask and took a little test.
When he woke up, life seemed to return to normal-- though when he decided to pick the paints up again and showed his mother the first thing he had created since leaving the hospital, she vomited.
That's when he realized the aforementioned little test had actually happened, somewhere, and passing it allowed him the ability to control the horrors that plagued peoples' minds and dreams-- more specifically, he could use them to influence his artistic works.
He now owns a coffee shop, sketching in between serving and chatting with customers.
ABILITIES
- Kiel is one of the lucky ones who passed the world's test. His abilities manifested in his art-- he is able to imbue any visual art he creates, whether it be a painting, a drawing, or a photograph, with energy from the nightmare world. This causes them to invoke adverse physical reactions in viewers, ones that range from headaches or vertigo, to vomiting or hallucinations. He takes great pride in these particular pieces.
RELATIONSHIPS
- He is bros with an easily-flustered nerd named Otto, who has a bad case of insomnia, night terrors, and hallucinations.
He knows 222 is not a bad person under her frosty exterior, and finds her views on the world interesting in an odd sort of way. She has a lot of secrets, and he often wonders what happened to her. She is the only one who knows about his ability.
OTHER s**t
On his back is some kind of marking that I have not decided upon yet, but it's a symbol of passing the test, and everyone who succeeds has it.
His favourite holiday is, obviously, Halloween.
Likes animal skeletons. Has a tiny carousel made of pony skeletons in the spare room of his apartment. He bought it from a weird guy over the internet.
He hasn't been legitimately afraid of anything since waking up from his coma.
He posts the pictures he creates anonymously on the more obscure corners of the internet. They've gained a sort of cult status with some of the more devoted horror hounds. There are a few lists of his works floating around, though many images are lost shortly after appearing, usually through being manually removed by a moderator, but sometimes Kiel himself breaks the image links minutes after posting them. Some people claim to have them saved, though never deliver. There are maaany rumours surrounding them.
Kiel is based on the concept of haunted paintings & pictures, such as The Hands Resist Him.
