The Old Life, Chapter 4
I opened my eyes noticing my frozen cheeks covered in dried tears. I was walking with someone, with my house in view. Looking next to me,it was Gaara who was walking next to me. "Gaara?" "You finally opened your eyes," he says with a smile. "Did you walk me all the way here by yourself?" "Yes." "I'm sorry you didn't have to do that, I can walk on from here." "Well it's kind of too late for that, we're already at your house." I seperated myself from Gaara and thanked him, but he didn't leave. I guess he wanted to make sure I was inside. So I knoked on the door and out came Lendala. She had a confused mixed and worried look in her eyes, since she saw my red nose. "Saga what are you doing here? I thought you were going to be at the park...and who's this younge man with you." Hearing her say younge man made Gaara blush which made me giggle. Then I sniffled abit before answering all her questions when we are inside.
*Lendala's POV* While I talked Lendala made tea for us all. Still chating away, I talked about what me and Gaara did at the park. Then Gaara confussed that the man was his father. Leaning over the table Lendala told me to go take my bath so her and Gaara could talk.
"So Gaara, why did your father want Saga to leave?" "I don't really understand why he would do that to your daughter" Lendala tilted her head then brusted out into laughter. "Look at you talking like a grown up, but...Saga's not my daughter." "But she talks about you like you're her mother." "I know but I'm not," she looked into her cup to see her reflection on the surface with a warming smile looking back at her, "I found her alone when she was just a baby,...I don't know but I'm guessing that her parents left her or they were killed once she was born." "Oh" Lendala noded and took a sip of her tea. Then she looked through a window to see the full moon. "It's a long way from the village why don't you stay here for the night and besides it's Saga's birthday tomorrow." "Are you sure?" "Mhm."
*Back to my POV* I walked down the stairs in my lime green pj pants and a white t-shirt. A shade of pink appeared on my face seeing Gaara still in his seat. His small pale fingers around his cup. My blush soon vanished by the sound of Lendala's voice. "Saga, Gaara will be staying for the night, he'll be in your room ok." "O-Ok." Gaara took a bath as I waited in my room with Sadow. When he came out he was in a white tank top and shorts. "Um, is this alright?" "Hm?" "I mean is it alright that I'm here?" "Of course it is." Gaara noded and jumpped onto the bed making Sadow awake from his sleep causing his fur to stand up while he stood up in shock. We both laughed as Sadow went back to sleep. "Saga, Gaara time to go to bed!" "Ok!" I said turning off the light and crawling under the fuzzy covers, Gaara doing the same. "Night Gaara." "Night Saga." "Good night Sadow," We both said, hearing him pur as a response. We smiled at each other then closed out eyes...well I did anyway. "Saga?" "Yes?" I said opening one of my eyes. "Was it true,...what you said at the park?" "About what?" Now opening my other eye. "About that you like me?" I blushed abit then noded. Gaara blushed also and said, "Well I like you too." I smiled shyly but excited that he felt the same why.
*Gaara's father POV* He sat in the kitchen his fingers intertwined infront of his face and his elbows on the table. From behind him an anbu black op appeared behind him kneeling down on one knee. "Kazekage, we could not spot Gaara in the village." His fingers tightened. "Did you look outside of the village?" "No sir, but we think he's still with the girl." It was silent for a monment until the Kazekage spoke, "Burn it." "Excuse me sir?" "Find Gaara, bring him here, and burn the girls' house down with her in it." "And if she escapes?" "Kill her." The anbu stayed quiet for a second then said, "Yes sir", and left in a cloud of smoke.
