Human beings are a strange and interesting batch of creatures on the little planet known simply as Earth. Unlike every other creature in the world, their goal is to surpass their need to survive and exceed the fragile boundaries of their minds. What used to be a colony of farmers and hunters turned into a vast civilization of businessmen, politicians, and artists. Rather than huddle together around fires and live their lives to merely be born, to reproduce, and to die, mankind has risen from the depths of the earth to become liken unto gods.
Scary thought, no? Nevertheless, the message bears its truth.
Humans have come to rise from their shells out of conscious thoughts and ponderings. As any philosophy teacher will tell you, the base of every academic field and every organization sprang from thought. Humans stepped forth from the darkness of their caves and stared up at the skies, mystified at the shimmering stars that appeared in the Earth's shadow, and then so readily reappeared at the very moment the Sun's eye crept up from the distant ground. Questions filled their minds and left them in a curious state. Logic and reason would soon replace instincts, and that's what allowed humanity to succeed to the creatures they are now.
Fight or flight - If you're powerful, you stand your ground and ward off intruders. If you're fast, you turn tail and run away. Surviving means you're victorous. Humans look at the fight or flight option and twisted its meaning to success or loss. There is the struggle to maintain one aspect and avoid the other at all costs. If you are successful in life, you're generally happy. Survival alone does not grant the same pleasures as victory might.
And where do gods come into play with humanity? As the title of this little article says, gods are the status with which humans desire to obtain. Gods are, by general definition, the greatest possible creatures the world has every known. They are perfection. They are powerful. They are the very peak of evolution. They are all that is good and none that is bad. Humanity strives to obtain this very goal in regards to everyone else. Unfortunately, this is their own downfall, seeing how the existence of multiple dieties tend to conflict with one another. Watch as the followers kill one another and you'll see what I mean.
I'd go into my definition of what gods are, but this entry is devoted to humans so I'll avoid such idle ponderings.
As mentioned, the strive for success leads to the downfall of humanity. One's success generally does not come without the effect of a loss for another. The term "free" is an impossible idea, no matter how you look at it. Something must come from something. You cannot simply take something from nothing; that's not how physics works out. If a person is to scale the rigors of Everest, they must do so at the expense of their body's health, the health of their team, and the possibility of death. If a war is to be won, there must be a losing side. Human success comes at the loss of something else, whether it is the enviroment, the self, or even another human.
Nevertheless, humans are the most interesting creatures to think about. Sure, one can observe an ant-hill and be fascinated, but take a backseat view at the life of a single human being and one could very well be hooked. If course, one's own life may bring about enough excitement than having to take upon the role of viewing another's days.

but, people do not aspire to become god, they aspire to become an aspact of god, which itself is fuled by greed, and bit by bit they force themselves to be the opposite of gods, destructive where gods create.
some say we have come to the peak of evolution, that we can evolve no more, is that to say we are not ment to become gods, or that we push more to become gods.
there is a theory, that the only way we can truly "evolve" again is to shead are bodys and to be without there limitations, to be able to truly be free of them.
you know, to percive humans in a different way you have to yourself ditach from humainty, to see the wonders that life is, you have to see the alternative,
if only i had the time to see anouthers life.
wow, sorry for any spelling mistakes there
