We had to make 6 poems for Engish class, each having a different emotion, restlessness, fear, anger & hatred, sorrow, nostalgia, delight. Nostalgia means a longing to be back to a time, like "I miss the 50s"

The Clock (Restlessness)

Tick tick tick tick
tick tick tick,

The clock pounds
a never-ending song,
vile the thing
that never ever sleeps

Tick tick tick tick
tick tick tick,

Twelve gongs sound
under the radiant full moon
alone at night
a weary heart weeps

Tick tick tick tick
tick tick tick.

Silence (Fear)

Not a sound
Not a squeak
Not a laugh
Not a peep.

Not a pound
Not a creak
Only the steadily increasing
Heartbeat

Hate (Anger&Hatred)

He taunts me, laughs at me, beats me down
Spits on me, knocks me to the ground
Kicks me, stabs me, whips me even in my weakened state
I say to myself “this cant be how it ends, this cant be my fate”
looking up into his eyes I saw fires ablaze, for his name was hate.



The Sailor (Sorrow)

The sea echoes an old story
Of the storm and waves
Of the wind and rain
The seabed his lonesome grave

Memories (Nostalgia)

Singing songs
For times long gone

Nighttime beauty (Delight)

The celestial god kissing her cheek with its radiance
Sends a message to all souls, wretched and pure
That the day is over, and the midnight dance can begin,
Between the sleepy souls and the weary spirits,
An ancient ritual is performed, evoking beauty and grace,
Like all things, nothing lasts forever, and so the
Midnight giants take their place back in oblivion
