Oh, honestly Antwerp, how humiliating a city can you be?
Now, for anyone who's never been to one of these, a Christmas Market is kinda like a fair. There's a Christmas theme (usually involves Glühwein and gin) and some people set up store there to sell little holiday trinkets.
But not in Antwerp.
We have tons of gin stands, tons of winestands, but almost no trinkets.
And the music. I mean, you're supposed to get high off X-massing, but instead, nothing but hideous attempts at rap/r&b. Not quite the festive music.
And to make things worse, there's this ice skating ring. Man, that thing is tiny.
If there's twenty people on it, it's basically full.
O_O.
Yes, that tiny.
So, what one would usually do then, is to just go and snack on stuff, right?
Riiiiight?
Forget about that. Appar, you do not have to stock food to last you the night as a stallkeeper, you just sell out what you have and then act like an arse to the people who arrive at 11 pm asking for food.
*sigh*
At least the company was excellent ^^.

And trust me...
Some of Berlin´s markets are really really bad...
Especially when the main x-mas song you hear is Wham´s "Last Christmas".
It seems Germans can´t get enough of that song...and listen to it every year at this time.
The fact that the song starts to bug you after you have listend to it 3 times within an hour on the same radio station is unavoidable. I think it has something to do with brainwashing, or Berlin´s gay mayor Mr. Wowereit intends on making whole Berlin a homosexual city by using George Micheal to brainwash the citizens.
All I can say is, as long as you have some cool people or a cute girl to go with and are tollerant towards strange music (we have the same rap/r&b music problem) you might consider a christmas market fun.
