Many villagers pointed and looked in awe as the babe roll down the hill. Many of them also ran towards the babe to stop it from rolling.
A smarter villager named Sethe ran to the top of the hill, thinking that there must be parents of the babe. When he got to the top of the hill, he stood in shock. He could see no one on the vast plain that stretched for miles.
He ran down the hill and slipped. After he tumbled to the bottom, he walked over to the babe, and picked it up. He carried it to his small house on the far side of town. He washed the babe up and made a bed for it. He then lay the tired babe on the ned so it could rest.
Sethe told himself that he would take care of the babe...
