Mmmmh~ Hi hi! Welcome to my journal and I hope you enjoy your read ` v '
Time
Time is such a finicky thing. We all have the same amount of time each day, always 24/7. If you somehow have more, please tell me and share your secrets. >.>
We all have the same amount, and yet we somehow manage to never have enough. Maybe it's because it's a fixed amount each day that we get or that we simply are in a culture where we've stuffed our lives with so many things that there's too much to do in just the time we have. Maybe it's the fact that we greedily desire more time in hopes that we'll get what we ultimately wish for with time.

In the end, a lot of it is time management. I know this and I've heard this many times, especially raised in an Asian culture while being told to spend more time on the "worthwhile" things and manage my time better to get things done. I understand this concept very well. It's a matter of sorting priorities. The better you are at recognizing the right priorities and acting on it, the less time seems to slip away. Of course, easier said than done. In this busy culture with expectations put on us to do more with less time, then taking time from our needed rests and breaks to do even more work for less time to rest, we're bombarded with so many tasks. Some can manage, while others might feel overwhelmed. People even resort to multitasking, the act of doing several of those tasks at once. I won't deny that it is a thing, but often times people will find it difficult to multitask, at least properly. Usually, people simply micromanage their priorities. Doing a task of higher priority, quickly switching to another task as they change their priorities and then switching focus to the previous task. Like single-tasking, but with rapid diversion of attention.

That's not the only finicky part of time though. Communication and time play hand-in-hand often. Like the student decides to take a break and browse Facebook or Instagram for "a bit", it's easy for one person to think the break would be 15 minutes and for another person to effortlessly stretch that break a few hours. Similarly, not just for time but even quantity-wise, words can be so subjective. "A lot" can stand for a lot of different quantities in people's minds. Just like how "a bit" suggests something small, but could span longer than another person's expectations. Often times, it could be a matter of perspective. Like how time seems to pass by slowly when waiting for someone or while the oven timer is going down, that same amount of time could slip away in the blink of an eye in the face of an enjoyable moment. Someone with "too much time on their hands" could really feel like they don't have enough time to do the things they enjoy. There's not really much difference of how much time they have compared to you.

To all those who read, I hope your time is precious to you and you remember everyone is in the same time as you, only that they're experiencing it differently from you.
