It’s late at night and I had a random thought regarding DmC. I don’t know if it’ll make sense but I’m more likely to face palm myself if it doesn’t, especially when I see it in the morning. Anyway, I know that this is a reboot taking place in an alternative universe, in which Dante is half demon and half angel. But why the half angel part? I wonder what Ninja Theory was thinking when they added that change.
Logically, wouldn’t that make Dante immortal? Or at least, wouldn’t it make that Dante a lot more stronger then the Dante in the original series? Almost godly? From what I can tell, Ninja Theory is going for the angels and demons are separate species, with one good and the other evil. I’m sure that each species has their own super healing abilities, at least above average for a human. Dante, being half of each. Well, with those halves combine it would pretty much be as though Dante is full demon/angel. He would have access to a lot of power, health and a much longer lifespan. In the end, that’s a lot of power.
Something tells me that this game will be fill mostly with angels and demons (mostly demons I’m sure), possibly not leaving any room for humans. So now what, humans are just accessories? Makes sense though, there’s no way he can connect with humanity on the same/deeper level as the original Dante.
I can see how the angel half can work but that’s not the same. Imagine a person who has never own a pet. Now, what if they told a pet owner who’s pet die that it was just a pet (or worst that they can get another one). That person knows the pet owner is sad but they just don’t understand or truly get it unless they experience it (having a pet of their own) for themselves. Dante not being human wouldn’t know what it’s really like for a human.
But what worries me the most is that he might be too super powered. Angels and demons are powerful beings. Some are stronger then others and some are weak but either way, they will always be better then humans. It’s in their blood. I wonder how much of a role will Dante’s heritage take in shaping who he is/becomes and the same can be said for Vergil.
