I never once tried milk with my black tea until today. It was okay, but I felt like it was missing something. So I tried again, this time changing up the tea with chai and it was perfect. What was missing was the spice! It made the drink taste so much better.
Also, I noticed that I didn’t need to put in as much sugar as I usually do with my tea. That’s a good thing because I am a sugar fanatic and I’m trying to do my best to reduce it. I read about how adding milk to teas that are high in tannins such as black tea will significantly smooth out the brew. Because the milk binds to the tannins and adds a little bit of natural sweetness, evening out the flavor.
