As you know I do lots of community service stuff for school~
You didn't know that?
Well then your reading skills are probably really poor! D<
But, anyways... >w>
As you read (hopefully) the title says "Light the Night"
Now your probably thinking about lights right?
And maybe their floating biggrin
Now your thinking about Tangled aren't you?
Don't worry! I love that movie!
You should be thinking about Tangled though!
But, anyways "Light the Night" is a small event from this organization
This particular organization is mostly involved in leukemia and lymphoma
And obviously their called the "Leukemia and Lymphoma society"
They help raise money to help people!
To find a cure!
Just like breast cancer! (Get your pink on!)
Basically, before the event
The event is introduced to us during club meetings.
Its always after school on Mondays at 6:30
They tell us about it and we go there
When I got there, we were having a slight problem getting to the place.
You may think a huge organization like this should be easy to find
But they weren't!!
They were hidden behind a building!
Grah! It was so annoying! =w=
When I got there to sign in, they were like
"What's your name" and this and that
They didn't seem very nice Dx
But they gave me this totally awesome t-shirt
The color was this very neon yellow...
If you know what that looks like just imagine that in a crowd of people
Wearing purple, black and blue and whatever
Yeah, you can pretty much spot us a mile away xD
Now, during the club meetings there are different things you can sign up for
I signed up kind of late so I got a crappy shift!
Clean up monitor!
But I didn't mind since I like cleaning :3
I told my best friend
And she said "I could totally see you doing that!"
And she also said "I bet you would yell at all the little kids! Be like 'Hey!! Pick up your trash!!' "
I, of course, completely agreed with her xD
When I got there I was a little early for my shift
Wait... Scratch that I was really early >>
I was just a nomad ._.
Wandering from shift to shift...
I went to help out with the balloon shift :3
That was fun~
Basically, we fill the balloon with helium and we slip in a light bulb in there
Okay, okay I know what your thinking
"Indie! Your so stupid! The heat from the balloon is obviously going to pop the balloon! Trying to scare all the little kids, are ya?!"
No, no! And did you ever stop to think maybe it was the light efficient ones?!
God! >w>
It was just a small LED light bulb
And if you have every tried to put something through the lip of the balloon without letting the helium out
Its not easy!
Also on a side note... They were funny shaped...
lol
You think about that
Don't get it?
Well.... If you look at a balloon the kind of long and hollow passage way...
And were putting LED lights in there...
Those who know just will xD
So anyways we were having a hard time putting the LED light in there so we needed something to ease it
In the end we got some soap water and that lubricated it >w>
The day I went, it was really really windy!
So the balloons all got tangled!
Blargh! Make sure you remember that because its important!
Later, when I was suppose to start my shift
There were some other people who were suppose to help me
They never did!
They just sat there and tried to untangle the balloons
While I was the ONLY ONE doing the cleaning shift!
Every time I leaned over to pick up trash I died a little on the inside...
No one helped me!!
Damn, my fellow Asians!
Damn them to whatever they don't like!
And THOSE 4 J'S!!
Jeffrey!
Jeru!
Jason!
And JUSTIN!! D<
I despise them with my very soul!!
NO BODY HELPED WITH THE CLEANING SHIFT I WAS ALL BY MYSELF!!
WHEN I SAID THEY SHOULD HELP ME JERU JUST SAID "We are helping, we are organizing the balloons."
THAT COCKY UGLY a** b*****d!
HE WAS SUPPOSE TO HELP ME!
NOT THE BALLOON PEOPLE!!
At least some of my other friends offered to help~
Thanks Bonnie, Carolina, and Connie ;~;
They didn't get far with it though >w>
They were doing the balloon shift...
But I guess my favorite parts were the butterflies!
They had a little booth there at the event and they were getting people to pay five dollars to release a butterfly
Which I thought was totally worth it whee
Sadly, I did not have money at me at the moment
But, I totally would have!
But you know when they were releasing them some of the ones left in the cage refused to leave
So I got to pick them up with my finger and then they flew off~
But some stupid people wouldn't let theirs go!
They kept them in the packages they got
Packages that were small pieces of paper
They were suffocating the poor butterflies in there!
They were even bleeding!
And those stupid little boys D<
Some of the little kids even trapped them under rocks!
Thankfully I found it and let them go!
Those cruel littering bastards!
So obviously I wasn't having that great of a day D:
I was so ticked off!
This wasn't really suppose to be funny or anything
Just me telling you about something that happened
And in this case just ranting!
But I guess the other high light was this lady there gave me a balloon animal :3
That was awesome!
Funny thing was the "Light the Night" event was the same night as homecoming
So that's how I spent my anti-homecoming xD
But afterwards I went to my friends house and watched a movie there :3
Then the next day I went to work my legs and butt were totally sore!
To this day I am still cursing the 4 J's!
Thanks for reading :3
I like feedback ._.
