Chap 6. [It's missing, even though I wrote it. I'm re-writing it.]


As I headed to the showers to wash off the gore of the day, I was thinking. Sadly, we only have a single bathroom, and being the kind commander I am, i'm always last. Yes, It sucks. And yes, i'm breaking the fourth wall.
As I approached the door, and Danni walked out, with her hair down, which was unusual.
"Hey...When you finish... Can you come see me? Same place as always."

I stepped out into the midnight November air, and breathed deeply.
"So, what do ya wanna talk about?"
"I dunno."
"Gee, that helps."
"Shut up. Why cant you..you know...God."
"Because I don't want a relationship in my unit. I'm not over Mop."
"Of course, your perfect girlfriend I learn about today."
"Stop it." She turned around and buried herself in my chest, and looked at me.
"Your heart. It...It doesn't beat."
"Yeah. You're right. Neither does Alex's. Elizabeth doesn't have one, and Jeremy doesn't need one."
"Tell me, am I real?"
"What?"
"Real. I mean, I feel, I hurt, I love. But I don't know if it's real."
"I don't know. I'm technically not real, Elizabeth is a Ghost, and you...Well I reanimated your body in stasis. After your soul haunted me, I had to bring you back."
"Tell me, does my heart beat? Am I normal, or like you?" I placed my hand on her chest, and felt a faint beat. Faint, oh so faint, but still I felt it. I looked into her eyes.
"N-no... You're like me."
"Good." She walked inside, and I laid down, put my .357 to my temple, and pulled the trigger. A blank. Of course.
"That was, interesting." It was Aster. I didn't need to turn around to know he was there.
"Jeez. Spying on me?"
"A little. I'm surprised I haven't been shot yet."
"I treat my guest's with hospitality."
"Nice to know."
"Why don't you do it? Kill me here and now. Your Biotic signature is so strong, you're giving me a headache standing there. You could kill me now. Why not?" I had to ask.
"Because someone needs us to work together."
"Really? Who?"
"Why, me of course." That voice. I stood up. It was him. Weston. The scientist who made me who I am.
"Why are you here?" I asked, Biotic Spheres on my hands.
"Because I need you two. I plan on hunting Biotics, killing them off. Making this place safer."
"Great. What makes you think i'll work for you?"
"Oh, details. You know, the Soutwond's are a nice family. Such cute daughters and all" He mused. I leapt at him, trying to punch him in the face. He grabbed my arm, twisted it behind my back, and held his P226 to my temple.
"Don't make me waste you, boy." He let go, and I stared at him.
"Start training. I have a place for us to meet."
"Fine. But I have a war to fight, and mutants to kill. Ya know, kinda yer fault."
"I know this. Aster and I will be riding along with you." With this, he departed, Aster with him, and I went inside.

We were on the plane, with Alex snacking on cram, and Fox and Danni talking about bloodstains. Everyone else was standing or sitting. I was standing in front of the bay door.
"Good morning, Wolves Reunion." Aster said, and appeared. Then Weston.
"What the hell?" Everyone leveled their weapons, and I told them to stand down.
"We are in an agreement. Don't fire on them."
"Alright. Mind elaborating?" Alex asked.
"My dear Carriker. Adamska, Aster and I are going Biotic hunting."
"Right. Alex, Fox and Elizabeth, you guys are in command. Alex, take point. When we finish, we'll regroup."
"Fine."
We touched ground.
