SO lately, all we've been doing this summer is aiming to get this disc golf league going. xD
Almost every day we've gone out and played. Wether if its riding our bikes two miles, or we get a ride or something, we find a way to play. Usually we play with people we know, but since I have this club and shiz, I've been more willing to get out and talk to people (disc golfers) about it. And ya. biggrin
If we're not golfing were doing something for my dad's work. Like a small little roadtrip. It gets me out of the apartment, which is nice....
Oh, one small trip we took was up to the White Mountains. Right where that Wallow fire was starting. I got some of the very first pictures of the begining of it. And here we are still talking about it. :0 Not good.....Godjesus fires. If it were to rain we would be fine, but NO! >:0
So while we were there in Pinetop, we found a disc golf course. I have a little buddy that lives in the area and we were able to meet up, which was nice, since I hadn't seen him in forever. Well we never really got to play, so ya. He's so adorably cute. :3
We've only been out to our land about twice now. We don't ever have that much time to go out there. But the two times we did, we got on the quads and took off for several hours, exploring the trails. I'm still curious as to where the elk are. There aren't too many around as far as I'm concerned. >.<
I just realized..I've been taking so many beatings lately. My one leg is so beat up. It had scratches and scrapes all down it. It was crazy. And this one thing that happened to my knee...is a funny story I shall get to later.....xD
Oh, well I guess this leads me into our next topic. TEXAS!!! ya, baby. I went.
One wednesday the 15th we decided to take off. Driving. 1000+miles.
So we had our friend watch our dog. Lucky had to make some new friends, because they had two other dogs, which they got a long pretty well after a while. And after that 4pm we were off. Officially. We soon crossed over the NM border, drove drove DROVE some more. I didn't think my dad was serious but we drove all that day, and night. 16 hours of driving, sitting in a car. Sure I got to sleep a little bit. My dad only stopped for an hour to try to take a break. I was in the back, and I kinda got a tiny little cat nap in, but it was soooo hot after a while. It was like 2am in the morning (az time....texas time like 4) but it was hot sitting in there. But eventually we took off and we only had about 4 or some hours left. I really dont remember. Cuz we pulled into a little town right outside of Dallas, about 10am their time. But we had to wait for a hotel.
Oh, did I mention the reason why we went? It was for a family reunion. xD hahah
So we decided to waste time and we went out into this field and threw discs around and stuff.
Some of our relatives were there watching us, but we both had no idea that we knew each other until we all met up later.
Eventually my grandma and all them show up and stuff. And I don't think we did anything that night. But then again I think me and my dad went and found this one disc golf course. Called the "Lake course' since it was right by this big ol' lake.
Let me tell ya, that weather was HELL!!!! They had some record breaking heat and plus all that humidity. Oh jesus. Even at sundown we were sweating like crazy. Even a sunrise. *tisk tisk tisk* >_>
But this course was so beautiful! These trees and everything were astounding! I loved it. The backside where the lake was, was fantastic! I loved it!
So some morning, it could have been that Thursday morning, we went to go see everyone in the lobby, eating breakfast. My cousin pulled me away to join him in the fitness room thingy. Sure I lifted some weights and, did the elyptical and the treadmil....oh how I hated that treadmill. We were joking around and he turns the speed way up to like 12mph I think. He was trying to slow it down, but for some reason I was stupid enough to TRY to jump on it and try to go that fast. It didnt really work. Ya know those stupid videos on AFV, where the guy tries to go all fast but he falls and...burns and skins everything. Well that's what happned to me. My two knees, and kinda my ankles were skinned and burned and everything. It burned and stung at first but I tried to ignore the pain as I did the elyptical some more. I didnt think they would bleed and s**t as much as they did. Especially my right knee. That one got it the worse.
Since no one was there we tried to fool everyone by saying stuff like it was a turtle bite and other funny stories.
And later that night we went to some place where we had a room to ourselves and where the family could hang out and mingle and sit and talk. I talked with some people and just sat there. We tried talking to these one dudes who were pretty damn shy. One could barely look up. It was funny.
Everyone played poker. I normally would have jumped in but that time I just didnt want to. I was all grrr. >.> Tired and blah.
So eventually we make it back to the hotel and sleep. I think. Oh well that night we were messing with my cousin. He had been dying to go disc golfing with us for a long time, and we told him he might be able to come. So that night we wrote a letter, put it under his room door, and waited.
The letter told him he could be a winner of an exciting disc golf adventure. And if he would give us $5 and put in back in the envelope and give it back, and wait by the phone and answer by the second ring, he would be told further instructions.
Well anyways, it was all early in the morning, and he sent the envelope back, but it was empty! :0 he forgot the money. hahaha. but eventually remembered. SO eventually we ended up taking him golfing. and that kid LOVED IT! xD He had a lot of fun learning everything and stuff. biggrin
And later in the day the reuinion was held at some conference center in our hotel. Which was awesome. This time I joined on in the poker games. I won a lot. xD hahaha.
O so this is where it got fun.... We showed the two dudes who were so shy the first day what disc golf was. We set up our basket in the parking lot and gave them some discs and they just threw them around haha. It was quite fun.
Eventually my dad left me with the three guys (my cousin joined us) and we just chilled. For some reason we played tackled football with a disc as our football. Haha that was fun. Then we put the basket away, but we weren't done hanging out. My cousin and I went to the two dude's room and they bought us soda, and we would run up and down the stairs and drop things from the top floor all the way to the bottom of the stairwell. We raced up and down. and even messed around with the eleveators. I swear after a while those things became curssed.
Those two shy dudes were so open and wild and crazy! I didnt expect to see them run around everywhere with us.
This crazyness and our shinanagins went on for about an hour. Some of our family said they could hear noise in the stairwells and us running by on all of the floors. Oh it was great. They had a great time. And that's all they could talk about for the rest of their night. Until they crashed out. xD I was pretty damn tired too.
So we slept well, and that sunday, fathers day we decided to leave.
We headed straight for albequerque. Hated that area. We got there about sunset, found a place and slept.
In the morning we found a small little disc golf course, played it and left. I was so happy when I could finally see the mountains again. All we had to do was get Lucky and we were home bound.
We had a friend come over and he gave us a ride to the disc golf course. It was so nice to be playing with pine trees...and sap. >> I missed that course. I did pretty well. xD But ya it was pretty awesome.
Now today, which is the 21, I'm just cleaning and shiz. And preparing for tomorrow!
Our first day of league. This gives these one dudes an exuse to come out and play. Dudes I haven't seen in like 3 years. I'm so excited. And I get to play and eeeek! -happy dance- xD <3
So I'll tell ya'll how the league goes and all that jazz. <3
