That one day of the year where many dread, whether or not they are couples or singles. I use to hate it because it seemed to be the only day where people are constantly reminded about being single. I guess that’s why many also called it Single Awareness Day (S.A.D.) for those that don’t have that special someone to cuddle with and shower their love for them. But it’s also annoying for those that are in relationships because it’s a requirement of them to get something for their love one. If they don’t their love one will feel left out and unhappy that their other half didn’t do anything and never forget it.
Honesty, V day shouldn’t be that one day in the year where someone goes out of their way to make it special for their love one. It should actually be random because it’s a whole lot special and meaningful if it was unexpected. Doing it like that would make the person feel warm and fuzzy knowing that they didn’t do it just because it’s Valentines or that it was “require” of them to do so.
But of course I’m not saying it doesn’t hurt to get a box a chocolate on that day but save the romantic dinner, jewelry, a dozen of roses, a giant teddy bear, champagne, or whatnot for another time. Nowadays, it’s rare to find someone who does things “just because” and not have an alternative motive for doing it. Really, when was the last time I’ve heard or seen a boyfriend or husband give his love flowers just because he felt like it? I hear plenty of the females doing stuff for their men just because but not much on the guy’s side.
So guys, keep that mind. Do things randomly for your girl because you’ll be the most romantic, thoughtful and loving guy in her eyes if you do. As for those single, it doesn’t have to be a miserable day for you! Get out and celebrate with your other single friends and have fun. Go to the movies, go ice staking, bowling, clubbing, to a museum, to a spa, or whatever that interests you. Or if none of that catches your fancy than stay home and make it a YOU day.
Pamper yourself with a home spa treatment. Or make yourself a lovely dinner with your favorites and than huddle under the blanket watching movies and popping chocolate candy into your mouth like popcorn. Just relax, enjoy yourself and remember that you’re not alone. Don’t forget to invite your friends over too. It’s a lot of fun to watch comedy movies with them and/or play video games or so whatever interests you both.
It’s a hell a lot better to spend the day your way than to mope around, hating it.
