I think this poem is the cry in all of our hearts:
Tell me I’m loved
Tell me You want me
And You’ll never leave me
Tell me You have a plan
Tell me You see right through my lies
And You still love me
Come and whisper the lies away
And don’t let go of my heart
Speak to me Your words of life
That remind me
No matter what I belong to You
I’m Yours and You are mine
Daddy, I need to know You love me.
Tell me I’m forgiven
Tell me I’m worth something
And You see only beauty in my eyes
Tell me that it’s ok to hurt
It’s ok to cry
Tell me You’ll hold me through it all
Until I’m completely healed.
Show me the power of love
Knowing I’m fully accepted and fully forgiven
That my life matters just as much as their life
That Your plan for me is just as important
Even though often I feel unnoticed
Trying to breakthrough my shell.
Come and whisper the lies away

That Your blood covers me
And the lies disappear in Your name

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be accepted
