Innocence stolen
At a young age
By the choices I’ve made
And the things that have happened to me.

Trust is taken away,
Takes years to re-build
What takes a moment to destroy
Takes a lifetime to heal…

Been through a lot of pain
Known a lot of heartache
More than I ever thought possible
But the good news is:

He didn’t leave me that way
Today’s another day
He picked up the pieces
And He held me close
That was not the end
What I’m going through now
It’s not the end.

Tears seemed endless
The dark seemed to last forever
Healing never stayed
Crying through the night
Trapped in a bondage of sin and pain
Desperately trying to be free.

A child pushed aside by the world
Made some wrong choices
Had many scars
Though the memories don’t always erase
I stand here new
For He brought me through:

He didn’t leave me that way
Today’s another day
He picked up the pieces
And He held me close
That was not the end
What I’m going through now
It’s not the end.

Now the healing has begun
I still make mistakes
But they no longer define me
The tears don’t last forever
The pain is only a moment when looking back.

He held me in His arms
He called me His princess
His little girl
He smiled at me
And whispered:

I’m proud of you girl,
You’ve come so far
And you never gave up
You’ll always be My princess
And I’ll always be your Daddy
Nothing can take you away from Me.

No He didn’t leave me that broken
Torn apart
He picked up the pieces
And He held me close
That was not the end
What I’m going through now
It’s not the end.

It’s not the end
Keep pushing through
He’ll never let you go
He loves you so much
His love is true
