Damn, I feel like I'm on a roll this week x] w00t. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ White roses tied with white ribbons adorned my young daughter's golden hair. I watched as her mother's gown was fitted and altered here and there. I smiled, a tear trickling down my face. She looked just like her mother, and just around the same age she had been wedded to me. I took in a deep breath and approached her,
"You look so beautiful, Alleria." I spoke gently, "Here, I have a gift for you my rose." I placed hands behind my neck and undid the chain before bringing it around her neck, the pendant of a silver wolf hanging before her. She gasped, gazing into the mirror at it,
"Father, you've never parted yourself with this... Thank you." she hugged me tightly, the maids making a fuss that she was going to wrinkle the gown. I laughed as I pulled her back gently, "Listen to me dear one, this is your day. Whatever it is you need, you tell me." She nodded at me, smiling so brightly, that same smile she gave me the day she was born.
"Father, I have all I could ever want. I want to do this for you, and Mother." she spoke, almost hesitating.
"And for yourself?" I saw her clutch her fists slightly, "Alleria, tell me."
"Yes, I...I'm happy I met him. He's kind, and gentle and very handsome, Father."
"Do you love him?" I couldn't really force her to love a man she hardly knew, especially at this age of sixteen, but she was my only child after her mother died.
"I...I'm not so sure, Father. I'm sure I will, but he and I are so...different. Look at us Father."
"You're doing this for our kingdom too, darling. Do no forget. His people are quite powerful; they make grand warriors. Especially in times like these, sweet one." I assured her and hugged her again. She sighed, breathing in my scent and I felt her relax,
"I know... and I know I will love him. The way he treats me; everyone outside our race would see him as a monster. I do not." She gazed up at me with those dazzling emerald eyes and kissed my cheek warmly,
"And that is how I raised you; never to follow what others say and just listen to your heart and mind. You'll do fine, Alleria." I kissed the top of her forehead and left the servants to finish preparing my child for her wedding.
