I never thought I'd be one of the one's chronically collecting gaia gold. I sicken myself. Truth be told, I was hoping I'd think of some reason to spout off on another romp through journal town but that wouldn't be fair to you readers. So let's see here.
The other day I realized the amazing properties of cell phones. I was just calling in anyone I knew for D&D and suddenly called one of my friends out of town. Not only out of town, she was in another state. However I didn't know this well into the conversation. If she hadn't told me I probably would've walked clear over to her place. Well maybe a little later. I called because I didn't want to walk all the way there without checking first.
Maybe we as a people have evolved too far. Things like cell phones are mundane little everyday things. I remember cassette tapes and when they were Amazing. Video games are the best way to compare this i believe. I wonder how many people were amazed by the nintendo 64's properties like me...
Speaking of cell phones, when the hell did someone decide they have to do some of the things they do... why do they have the internet for instance? Wouldn't that just hike up it's cost to a point during it's launch... a critical blow to it's sales?
Also, on the note of sales. There should be at least two weeks a year where noone, and i repeat NOONE buys video games. We're the consumers right? We should be able to make or break any game! How funny would that have been if on the launch date of Halo 3, not a singl copy was sold? Then for another two weeks nobody bought a copy. The retail price would plummit and people could've finished the trilogy for pennies on the dollar.
To be fair, Jerry Holkins & Mike Krahulik(Penny Arcade) had this idea first. In one of their book sthey sumarized video games shouldn't cost an arm and a leg, which by the way we seem to pay eagerly... Why don't we just roll over so big business can stomp on the other side of our faces?
