Today in English we did a writing exercise where one person wrote a story in third person objective, and then three more people wrote the same story in third person limited, third person omniscient, and third person. Here's mine:
3rd Person Objective (me):
Zula and Kenny sat on the pier. On the north dock, they could sea some sea lions. All of a sudden, one sea lion threw a rock at Zula, to which Kenny laughed heartily. The sea lion proceeded to cross a name off his list.
3rd Person Limited:
Zula and Kenny sat on the pier, on the north dock, they could see some sea lions. All of a sudden, one sea lion threw a rock at Zula, to which Kenny laughed heartily, while thinking, " I hope she is okay, but that was hilarious!" The sea lion crossed a name off his list.
3rd Person Omniscient:
Zula and Kenny sat on the pier. On the north dock, they could see some sea lions. One of the sea lions looked up, saw them, and thought "That one's on my list!" He threw a rock at Zula, to which Kenny laughed heartily while thinking, "I hope she's okay, but that was hilarious!" Just then, the sea lion crossed a name off his list.
1st Person:
There they were, sitting on the wooden pier looking so happy. I looked at my buddy and we both knew what was next. I picked up a sharp rock and threw it as hard as I could at the kids. The rock flew threw the air and nailed the girl in the head. We slapped flippers as I crossed the girl off my list.
I know that it's not very good, but that's it.
