ABC broadcasted a special about climate change a few weeks ago. The basic plot starred a fictional character (Lucy), born in 2009, and details her life as she grows up into the 21st century and deals with the consequences of rapid climate change.
Although the story is fictional, it's based on the projections from leading scientists. It's more of a wake up call than anything. It brings up important subjects into the public sphere, such as depletion of natural resources, migration, overpopulation, water scarcity, widespread diseases, powerful storms, invasive species, etc. All these are important issues that are bound to be faced by us in the coming future.
