I have read the book the Undutchables and I really enjoyed it.
Not only is it a good and funny book to read. The things that are written down about us (and with us I mean the Dutch) are in some casses very true.
I will quote some of these parts that I find very true!

"They always speak their mind and ask what most foreigners consider to be probing questions about one;s personal life. Thier directness gives many the impression that they are rude and crude- attributes they prefer to call "openness" you can put it to the test by discussing intimate and shocking topics with them that you would never dare speak about with persons of any other nationality. What may strike you as being blatantly blunt topics and comments are no more embarrassing or unuasual to the Dutch than discussing the weather".
( we don't mean to be rude since in our opinion it isn't. But I can understand that we might look very rude to someone who isn't used to our ways. I would say learn to live with it XP )

"The inhabitants of this smallg chunk of ex-seabed are not lacking in self-esteem, as reflected in literary titles sush as "And the Dutch created the Netherlands" and a KLM advertising poster that claimed: "Most people only get to visit great works of art- The Dutch get to live in one"
( Yes we are very proud of our country..but isn't everyone proud of there country? xD )

"They are supreme masters of things connected with water, bridges, dikes, canals. rain etc. They have had to constantly defend their sand against natural elements with an elaborate survival system as they will not hesitate to tell you. This defence has been far more successful then that imployed against many a human foe, as they will no doubt neglect to tell you."
(can't say anything in defense on that..XD)

There are many more things in it that are very fun to read and true although most of it makes us Dutch seem very rediculous! and in the book they use many examples that are very over exaggerated.(wich makes it funny)
I still advice you to read it before you visit us..It will give you a small idea of how you can prepare yourself for our apparently shocking behavior and way of life!
