My brother very recently (as in the last hour) taught me to play the modern world's beloved game, Minesweeper. After winning against my first field, I ambitiously advanced to intermediate. I've played about four games on intermediate, but none to any avail. Now, I am very close to winning my first game at this level and I simply do not know where to go from here. This is a screenshot of my dilemma:
Okay... so in the last few moments my brother came in and, after studying the board, advised I take a random, yet educated, guess. So, I was very sure that I would get a mine (I was aware that the odds were mathematically not in my favour). Nearly shaking with anticipation, I clicked the square above the one, rationalising that with higher squares nearby and large amount of mines still yet to be discovered, there was very little chance that the one would get a mine all to itself. So, with a heart beating like a drum, I clicked. This was the result:
I WON! Yes, my friends, that square above the one was a free square, so I cheered at my luck and the rest of the game fell into place. I can now boast to all of my friends and acquaintances that I prevailed at the seemingly impossible Minesweeper.
