Jenny pulled her covers up to her nose and listened to the scratching sound accross the hall. She sniffled, as she arose from her bed and drifted slowly to her end table, to get a drink of water. Jenny undone the cap and pressed it to her lips, and drank. She heard the sound again, and since she was home alone at night, she became frightened. Jenny ran to her bedroom door and locked it, then to the bathroom door... suddenly, she heard someone or something struggling to get into her room. Jenny had athsma and began breathing hard. She ran to the phone and began calling 9-11. Right before she hit the last number, the lights and everything went out. Even the phone. Jenny didn't want to draw attention to whoever it was, so she crawled into her vanity, her hands stuck with sweat to the tile. She opened the biggest cabinet drawer she could, and squeezed inside. She sat and waited for it to be over. Then found herself asleep.
