"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."
I lay on the long green grass, their gentle points tickling my face. A cool breeze blew in the evening sky, brushing the pond’s waters with delicate ripples. Like a watercolor painting, the vivid colors of the sunset melted across the sky, slowly conquering the blue heavens. Soon, dark shades of red and purple blossomed in front of me. A single bird let out a song somewhere in the distance.
My eyes were focused on the setting sun as silver stars began to appear, one by one. They were the eyes of the night, each a glimmering diamond. Their beauty made me think. The world must be lucky to have such a radiant view. Slowly, my eyelids closed, the stars blinking out slowly. A swirl of silent colors entered my mind.
When my eyes opened again, the sky was a dark navy blue. My black eyes echoed the velvet blanket above me. The moon had been hidden behind a misty veil, but now its radiance shone more than any precious gem would. Its crescent-like shape was like a glowing boat, and I imagined myself in it. At the same time I whispered to myself, “Is there anyone out there, stargazing and wondering the same thing? There are so many questions, and yet so little answers. I guess it is what makes life so special…”
Thin beams of light poured down the side of the grassy hill, turning the dark sky into shades of silky lavender. The stars winked at me as they vanished, like eyes closing before a restful sleep. The beauty of the night revealed the dawn of a new day. I sat up and smiled quietly at the rising sun. And I concluded to one thing as the morning birds sang their songs:
Through my eyes, I can see the world.
