Woo! Two posts in one day!
Here is the fourth part of the story for you all. :]
Enjoy~
"Mother!" cried a kitten in the early morning.
"Mother...I hunger" the child mewed.
"Yes, mother..we hunger too" chimed in another of her small ones.
"I know, my lovelies, I know..." She said, cuddling them to her breast. Kissing the top of her kitten's head she whispered, "You will eat tonight, I swear it..."
She bundled herself up and set off. Tonight she would return with food for her children, no matter what. Determined she set out to The Clearing.
As she walked down the path, Mrs. Quail called out to her, "Ms. Cat, where are you off to this time of the morning?"
"To The Clearing", she called back, "my children shall starve no more".
A grin crept to Mrs. Quail's face. "Ms. Cat, let me fetch my coat. I grow weary of hearing my child's cries of hunger as well".
Together they traveled, determined, down the path to The Clearing. The farther the went, the more mothers and women joined them.
They marched all the day long to The Clearing. Along the way, nobles would cross their path. The nobles that crossed their path did not fair well, for these were angered women. Women who, unless their children were fed this night, would stop at nothing. These women being in such an angry state, cut off the horns of the nobles they found. And like the siege upon the Bastille, tied them to sticks and paraded down the path with them. As they marched, more continued to join them.
When they had finally reached The Clearing, there were over 7,000 women there.
Yelling, screaming, and shaking their horned sticks, the peasant women called for their king to take notice.
Ms. Cat, who had started this march, climbed atop a tree stump and yelled toward the king's home.
"Your people are starving! Our children our starving. Can you truely sit upon your throne and not take notice of what befalls your people? We have no food. We are dying. Care you not what befalls us?!" she screamed toward the Boar King. "We will no longer sit by and let you gobble up your people's lives as you gobble up their food! If we do not leave today with food for our children, we can asure you, you shall not live to see the next morning!"
From the distance, they heard the king's Peacock Queen giggle, "If they have not berries, let them eat pie!"
Ms. Cat's ears twitched in anger.
"And you, you vain twit! You, who are a mother, can only giggle about as our own children wither away?" she hissed at her.
The crowd screaming and shaking their sticks, moved forward.
In the distance The Boar King and his Peacock Queen realized the women would not back down.
Fearing what they might do to them, they yielded to them.
"Dear ladies, please, worry not. This whole time I have been preparing food for you" said the king as he walked up, arms full of food and many men behind him with the same.
"Here, take freely, I wish only the happiness and health of you all" he smiled, a fake smile.
The women took of the food, but were not satisfied.
With their sticks and stones, the forced their king and queen to leave their luxury are return with them.
The Boar King and his Peacock Queen would never again see The Clearing...
