This is a poem I wrote (ironically) before I had heard of Gaia Online.
Honor of Gaia (by me!)
From her sacred and nurturing womb, our bodies were formed; through her generous harvest, modern humanity thrives; in her scars and shattered bones, we find our conveniance; though we slap and abuse her, she still gives without complaint; when we hunger for more, she is there to fill us up; yet as our hearts grow more demanding, her wealth is running dry; she wishes to give us more, as a mother always will; but our progress to the future will be shortlived; if we can't learn to live with her, to help as she helps us; then we will such out all her life, like the parasites we are; unlike her noble warriors, who fight to stay alive; she lays down her pride, for the sake of her children; her honor and valience keep her from fighting back; she takes the pain of our greed with a smile on her face; because she knows a little secret about the human race; she knows one day we'll die in her safe and loving arms; for from her dust we were created, and to her dust we must return; so at the end of the journey, we really can't compare; mother earth is the victor, the creator, life-taker, beginning, end, and everything in between, so live in honor of Gaia...
