Hello watchers and passerbys,
Do I have something interesting for you! So, you may remember, or may have stumbled upon, my original character Aix. I don't have a premium subscription anymore, so no thumbs, but here are some links to what I have here on DA (if you are too lazy to look him up in my gallery):

The first one is the most recent while the second is the first drawing of him I ever did. His design hasn't really changed, but I digress. I bring up Aix because, upon pondering more of his character, I figured that he should have a sort of familiar to call his own. This is where you come in: HELP ME FIGURE IT OUT! I have a few ideas of what his familiar could be, but can't really decide. That and I feel like other perspectives on the matter would be helpful in finding a familiar that feels like it's really a part of his character.
RULES
1.) You have until the end of this month (February 28, 2014) to submit your idea(s).
2.) There are two categories for you to submit to: Original Creature(s) and Existing Creatures.
A.) The first one is rather self explanitory in that something you invent (whether it be a totally new species/creature or a chimera of existing creatures, either is fine) whereas the second category is exclusively for real animals (alive or extinct) and/or established mythological creatures (like unicorns or dragons).
B.) You may submit to either category with any number of entries for each category (though please note that chances of winning for Existing Creatures is not dependent on the number of suggestions).
3.) If you submit an Original Creature, please add some sort of description as to what it looks like (a reference image would be nifty, if you have/make one).
4.) ONLY ONE ACCOUNT CAN BE USED FOR ENTRY. This goes for non-deviantART accounts too (e.g. tumblr, blogspot, etc). It just wouldn't be fair you know.
WINNING
Since there are two categories, there will be, essentially, two winners. The winner of the Original Creature category will be chosen based on the design/creature as it is presented, so the design I feel is most fitting will win.
For the Existing Creatures category, the method will be a bit more complicated. Since there is a possibility of multiple people choosing the same creature, here is how it's going to go for those entries:
1.) The creature with the greatest number of suggestions (by DIFFERENT participants) will "win".
2.) Those who suggested the most suggested creature will be placed in a pool to be picked from to win.
Winners will be chosen on/by March 3, 2014.
PRIZE(S)
While it's not much, I can still offer something to those who participate! The winners will get a drawing from me (yes it's fantastic, I know) in their style of choice (digital or traditional). While I don't often do colors, if you would like them, I can see what I can do to the piece. The subject matter can be whatever you like--like a character of yours, your friends, or a popular icon--however I will not do anything that isn't PG-13-ish for this prize. If you are uncertain of what I might consider to be "too much", pass your questions my way and I'll answer them as best I can.

If they don't have a DA account, let me know how to best contact them if they have an entry idea. I don't have a tumblr, but I can figure something out I'm sure. That's everything I think.
