EOS (evolution of smooth) lip balm is created to be pretty remarkable, by being 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. It also contains antioxidant-rich vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil, all of which will keep your lips moist, soft and smooth.
The need of lip balms and chapsticks are for securing moisture in our lips which will stop them from drying out. EOS claims that it does just that, it keeps your lips moist and soft. I wanted to try it out because it’s does sound like it’ll be better for my lips then other inorganic lip products. So when I was at the store I came across a lip balm of theirs during check out. There was only one “flavor” to choose from, the EOS Summer Fruit.
I hate the smell. I couldn’t stand it and I gave it away to someone else. I wasn’t going to bother trying anymore products from EOS because it’s a bit expensive. Last thing I wanted was to waste money on another lip balm that was bad too. So I looked up what other flavors they have and the reviews for them to see which was worth the risk. EOS lip balms come in Sweet Mint, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, Lemon Drop with SPF 15, Strawberry Sorbet, and of course Summer Fruit.
I got the EOS Sweet Mint lip balm and I love it. It’s so much better then the Summer Fruit. The smell is nice and minty. It’s not too overbearing either, actually it reminds me of a mint flavor chewing gum. What’s also great about Sweet Mint is that after you apply it to your lips, a tingly sensation appears. I also got the EOS Strawberry Sorbet and Honeysuckle Honeydew. They too smell great but their scent isn’t as strong, they’re more subtle actually.
The issues I have about EOS lip balms is that they aren’t cheap and it’s hard to find particular favors. Every store I’ve been to I see that they only have the Summer Fruit one but not much on the others. Plus, they aren’t as moisturizing as people think and as EOS claims because they are waxy. EOS lip balms are mostly good for when your lips are already soft and smooth. They’ll help to lock in the moisture already there, not heal chapped lips. For healing you’ll need something else.
