I don’t see the point when females say that they play games but we all know they don’t. Hold up, let me finish...You know those girls with pictures of them posing with a console controller, a game or just a message saying they too play games. I just don’t get it. To me it seems like a waste of time and completely pointless.
What do they gain from announcing it to the world besides for attention? It’s obvious that they don’t play video games because actual gamers spend time playing the game then posing with the items. Oh, and yes girls who play video games do exist! And they don’t need to make themselves known like those posers.
Besides, you don’t see guys posing with items and whatnot. Why should girls who play video games be any different? Also why call girls who play video games, gamer girls. There’s no need to differentiate the word gamer because of gender. You don’t see people calling guys, gamer boys or gamer men, etc. That’s just stupid.
TLDR: “Gamer Girls” need to stop with the posing and attention seeking. Girls who really do play video games actual play the game. They take part in the discuss/forums about the games they play, they write reviews on it, write about their progress and whatnot. And they don’t make it a big deal about their gender either. Plus, don’t even bother to stereotype them. Not all female gamers are messy hair, nerdy-looking and/or ugly. They all come in different shapes, sizes and races just like the guys do.
