Sometimes I’m a bit reluctant to buy products from Dollar Tree but I’ve notice that on the website people have review favorable on this product. With that I decided to buy some and the colors I got were black, purple and gold. There were other colors to choose from but I didn’t want to get them, unless I knew for sure that they worked well for me.
Anyway, the eyeshadows are very pigmented and matte (well most are). The black is really dark, matte and goes on so smoothly. I didn’t even need to put on that much either. The gold is fine but doesn’t show that well on my fair skin and I feel like it’ll work better for those with darker skin tones. The purple was nice too and it shows up nicely on me however, I don’t think it’ll be that noticeable on darker skin tones. For the gold and purple I needed to put a little more on, more so with the purple.
They’re also very easy to blend. I’ll probably blend the purple with another purple to make it darker. At least that way that purple won’t be useless and sitting in on my dresser collecting dust. For such pretty colors and only for a dollar I would definitely want to get some more, especially the teal, silver and white (or maybe even the beige). There are other eyeshadow colors as well, but not all Dollar Tree stores are the same. Some stores only have a few colors to pick from while others have them all.
Lastly, I’ve come across some people having an issue with these eyeshadows. Because they are really pigmented, they tend to stain the eyelid. For those that experience that with these eyeshadows or any other I have a solution. Make sure you have a good eye makeup remover. It’s recommended to use an oil base eye shadow remover because that does a better job in breaking down the makeup and easier to remove it. And/or use an eye primer before putting any eyeshadows on because it can definitely help minimize the staining or in some cases (again depends on how strong the pigment of the shadow is) even prevents it from staining.
