For some people this is a spoiler, so please do not read if you haven’t been following along to the recent episodes of Eureka, starting from The Real Thing.
It caught me off guard to see that Holly was murder. It made me even sadder to see Fargo struggling with the fact that she was gone. To him she was there one minute and the next just gone, totally unexpected. But it was exciting and a relief to know that Holly’s mind was still intact and in a way “alive”. They manage to save her and she’s now temporarily “living” in Carter’s house with SARAH.
I can understand why Holly is finding it depressing in just being a hologram. She knows what she’s missing out on, she misses what it’s like to be outside, to able to touch, to smell and all that. It’s not exactly a pleasant existence when a person who use to be alive can’t do those things anymore. That technically they aren’t human anymore and I wouldn’t be surprise if she’s hiding psychological issues because of what has happen to her.
Plus, it doesn’t help that her “life” isn’t completely stable because her programming is too much for SARAH’s computer to handle. So they need to work quickly to come up with a super computer that can handle Holly’s programming and it has to be powerful enough that it wouldn’t suffer the stress of it. At the same time they need to find a way to make her mobile and physically real.
I honesty thought they would’ve built an android body for her, similar to Deputy Andy. Maybe they will if everything else they’ve tried has fails? But as great as creating an organic body for her is, it’s risky and not something they’ve succeed in doing, seeing as it still needs a lot of work and research for it. But again, this is Eureka and whatever they put their mind to they’ll find a way.
