A good preparation before November (before NaNoWriMo starts) is to make an outline of your novel, research the things you need for your novel and create an in depth character profile. But to also make sure that two days before it that your desktop or wherever your work space is, is clean and organize.
Nothing is more annoying then looking for a particular paper among your thousands of scatter post-it notes on your desk. Or finding that you place your cup on an important paper and you can’t make heads-or-tails in what was written on it because there’s watermarks on it.
So make sure your desk is clean and organized. Use some cup table protector so that it doesn’t damage the wood and keeps it from leaving water marks on papers. Plus get a bottle instead of a cup so that if an accident does happen, it won’t spill on your keyboard/laptop or your papers.
Lastly, have snacks next to you while writing. That way, you’ll save time hunting down something to eat and to drink.
