Chapter 1
Summer's Over
I'm frozen, unable to move as I watch people screaming around me.
Fleeing.
What are they running from? I ask myself as I continue to struggle, as if to run with them, but I soon realize exactly what they're running from.
Me.
I manage to look over and see a piece of broken mirror and I catch my reflection.
My eyes are scarlet red and my face is icy white, framed by my ebony locks of hair. I gasp and try to scream, but nothing comes out and I feel as if I'm falling..wait. Why am I falling upwards?
Moments later my eyes jolt open..open? Wait...I turn my head from side to side, what is that annoying sound?
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Oh. It's my alarm. I flick the switch on it and groan. It was just a nightmare.
Another one.
I sigh and relucantly slide out from under neath the warm comfort of my covers. Time for school...hip-hip freakin' hooray...I grumble to myself as I make it to the bathroom with out tripping for once.
As I make it to the bathroom and manage to find the light switch in the darkness I cringe under the articial light as my pupils try to adjust. Once I can open my eyes with out them burning I look in the mirror and sigh. No red eyes, just the blue/grey ones I see every day. I touch one of my hands to my slightly rosy cheek, nothing special, just the same ole' pale face I usually see. I sigh and brush my black hair, thinking about how I need to get it cut again. As I set my brush to the side and finish my morning routine I make sure my outfit is in check and dash out the door after grabbing the necisary items.
Purse?
Check.
Bookbag?
Double check.
As I head out the door I notice the family vehicle is gone, Huh, dad must have had to work early today. I mutter in slight shock. My mom never gets up in the mornings, but my dad is usually just getting ready for work as I leave. Must have had an early shift.
I walk past the bus stop and chuckle quietly to myself as I see kids already forming a line for the wretched thing. For once I'm glad I'm not like the other kids as I race to school.
I finally reach the building and looks at it with another sigh, it's offical. School has begun and summer's over with.
Now let's hope this year will go by smoothly, well,
As smoothly as it can get.
