The day after that the angel was feeling a bit self-conscious about going out, especially after the demon attacking her yesterday. Although the attack was more like a cat playing with a mouse, than a full fledged "I-Will-Kill-You" attack. She spent most of the morning with an eye out, on the building he had seen the Demon return to the day before, and soon forgot about it all together, and her day continued as normal.
That was her mistake. As soon as she was once again comfortably hopping from rooftop to rooftop, the demon pounced on her once more. This time holding her by her wings, so that she would not try to fly off, but it was a difficult task even for his demon strength. Since he couldn't keep her still he merely threw her to one side and stood over her.
With his head tilted to the side and a grin on his face he asked her "Why do you do that?"
The angel, who's eyes darted from side to side looking for something to defend herself with, turned to him, her curiosity getting the best of her "Do what?"
He knelt down close to her face his grin still present, though it was clearly forced "That... bouncing on roofs thing."
"Oh..." she said softly, his closeness making her uncomfortable "That. It's just a game."
"A GAME?" The demon's face lit up, but the angel was unsure if it was genuine, since demons are master deceivers. "I like games," he said standing up, extending a hand to her, "I especially like races."
The angel looked at the hand and refused it, opting to stand on her own. she dusted off her pants and glared at him, crossing her arms, standing with her hips to the side. Her entire body screamed "I don't care!" but the Demon only looked her over, with ill intent on his mind, and licked his lips before proposing "How about a race? You and me."
"Ha,ha!" She laughed "You aren't serious?" her tone of voice was one of confidence, and obviously she had no fear of him.
"Yeah." He answered getting closer to her once more, he wrapped an arm over her waist and pulled her close, "A race, if I win, you give me a kiss, how about it?"
"No." she stated firmly, making him smile as he said "Then i'll just steal a kiss from you instead." and he leaned in. The angel reacted quickly and pulled back, pushing him away.
"Get away and stay Away!" She threatened, but he only smiled at her, inadvertently showing her his fangs. "Too bad." He shrugged "I'm going to get my kiss either way." The demon began getting closer to her once more, and the angel backed up to the wall of the stairway on the roof.
"Wait!" she said once he was close enough to to touch, "What if... I race you?" this made him stop to listen to the angel. "Loser kisses the winner" She proposed, "but the loser chooses where to kiss." then she paused to think of something, but the demon interrupted; "The winner gets to chose what area of the winners body gets kissed." he said with a sly smile, looking at her breasts instead of her face. The angel blushed and covered her chest with her arms, "Fine, but only general places, like torso, head, or legs. Got it?"
"You know, i'd always chose legs," he smiled at her, and she covered her ears "You're a pervert!" she screamed at him as he laughed at her reaction.
Still laughing he walked over to the edge of the building, looking for a finish line. "First to City Hall win." he said once he stopped laughing, and he looked at her, "Got it?" he mocked her.
She glared at him taking the space beside him,"I see nothing wrong with that. But we race just like my game. hopping from rooftop to rooftop." the angel said. "You can only use your wings to gain momentum and may only flap them once before stepping on a rooftop."
"And if there is a large gap?" he questioned, looking down at the fall they'd take if they had not been born with wings.
"In that case, you flap them only twice."
"And if i fall?"
The angel smiled and looked at him "Well that would be a shame, wouldn't it?" she said with sarcasm. "1..." she said, staring forward, calculating the fastest route to City Hall, she was NOT going to lose...then again, she didn't exactly want to win.
'Why do you get to count down?" He complained, looking at her.
"Because you might cheat." the angel said, not looking at him.
"I will not! 2!" he counted and both took up the position racers take before starting a race.
Before the demon could say another number The angel called out "3!" and instantly both jumped down to the rooftop below them.
